Playing With Birthday Gifts

Monks loves his car and wagon and couldn't wait to use them. He was so cute in them. He still does not have driving down, he either steers but doesn't press gas or sits back and just floors it and Devin has to run next to him to turn the wheel so he won't hit something. Crazy guy.

Funny Story

I still have some updating to do, but it is 2:00 a.m. exactly and I am tired. I will finish tomorrow. Today we went to run errands and we went to the mall to run by Best Buy for something. Chuckie Cheese is three stores down from it and as we drove in the parking lot Monks said guppie cheese. He loves the show Bubble Guppies so I was like huh? I said what and he said a mouse and pointed. I said Chuckie Cheese? and he said mm hmm. Devin said how the heck does he know that and I said I have no idea. We have never been there so I am not sure how he knew what it was but he kept asking to go to "Guppie Cheese" after that. Either he heard it once and has an amazing memory or he is a genius and can read already. Either way he is precious! Lol.

We also went to a Halloween store and he has been scared of werewolf masks. We try to tell him they look like Apollo but he still is uneasy around them. We were looking at these big moving monsters and I saw one of the clerks had put on the werewolf mask and hands and was hiding around the corner watching us. I thought surely this guy won't try to scare Monks and I told Devin you better make sure this guy does not scare him and by that time monks had already seen him and they were just looking at each other. Surprisingly Monks just held Devin's leg and kept staring at it. He pointed to it and I said look at that silly werewolf, he looks like Apollo! and Monks walked to about a few feet in front of him holding Devin's hand and waved and said hi wolf! He waved back at him and I was creeped out lol, I hate werewolves. It's funny how some things scare me and I have to act brave in front of Monks like nothing is wrong so he won't be scared and really in my head I am like eww, look away, look away lol I know I am dumb like that. Anyway he told the wolf bye and we walked off to look at some costumes. I heard Monks start whining and asked what was wrong and he said I wanna see the wolf! I said are you serious and he said wolf! I said um, okay and Devin took him back and he said in the sweetest voice again hi wolf! and he waved back at him. He just wanted to stare at him. I have no clue why. He told him bye again and asked for him two more times while we were there. At least he was not terrified anymore. Maybe I should have told the wolf hi lol. We then walked off to look at stuff and on this center table were these creepy zombie babies with red eyes, these giant rats, some owls and these creepy black cats. Monks walked by and said hi babies! When he wants to touch something he says I wanna reach it so he said I wanna reach baby. I said okay and he touched one's foot and then went down the row telling the owl, cat and rat hi and kissing each one on the bottom. How sweet is that?? I am glad he loves Halloween like we do.

Cake and Presents!

We had a Mexican feast for dinner and then monks opened his presents. He was so cute doing it. Tia and I made his cake, I was pleased with it and he went crazy when he saw it. We had fun doing it too. We went through several little piping bags, they kept tearing lol. I don't know how Buddy on Cake Boss does it. At least it tasted great! Monks got a wagon, some clothes, a Buzz car and some toys for his cars to play on. He loved everything. Thanks to all our family for making him feel so special.

My Monkey Turned 2!

Where did the time go? Seriously. The last two years flew by and I cry alot thinking about how old and independent he is. He amazes me each day and says the funniest things. He makes me laugh all the time and I don't know what I did without him. I am so proud of him. He is absolutely adorable. He is perfect. We went to the zoo and he is so funny with all the animals. He always says hi to every animal or makes their sound. They had a little train you could ride around the zoo and you should have seen his face. He was in heaven. I only have video of the train, no pics sadly.

Dog Days Downtown

Something is always going on downtown. One Thursday afternoon they had a dog walk and had a parade with the dogs, booths, jump houses, K-9 demonstrations and just lots of fun things. Tio and Tia invited us to go and we gladly accepted. Monks had a lot of fun and loved seeing all the dogs just walking through the downtown streets. They had a face painting booth where he got a paw put on his face and right when she finished it he wiped it, which smeared it lol. We also got food from a vendor out there and we had hot dogs and nachos. I had my nachos sitting on the curb while I got Monk's hot dog ready and this bastard dog, yes I am still mad when I think about it, came and licked my nachos!! I could have choked it. Ugh. It made it worse because it was this dumb poodle. Jerk. I hope he got an upset tummy from it.

Corbin's Birthday Party!

Corbin is the son of Larissa and we worked together at a daycare for a while. He is a few weeks older than Monks and had an awesome 2nd birthday at the Grace Museum. I am not sure if you can tell in the pics but Larissa made these adorable Sesame Street cupcakes. They were amazing. Monks ate an Elmo one. Pippa was only a few weeks old and I took her and Monks by myself. We had one minor meltdown and I made 4 different trips to the bathroom to change diapers, but we made it and everyone had fun. Thanks for having us! Monks loves the Grace!

Pippa's 2 Week Check-Up

Pips actually had her check up at 6 days old, as our pediatrician was going on vacation for three weeks after she was born so she got checked out a little earlier than normal. She measured 21 inches long (up an inch!) and weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces, so down 5 ounces which is normal and he said great as she still had so much time to gain it back. She checked out perfect!
