Mrs. Morgan

I have been behind in posting this! We had to get a new sitter and she started beginning of January. She comes to our house which is awesome because I don’t have to wake the kids up early. They can sleep in. I used to have to get them up at about 7 and now they sleep until 8:30 or 9! The kids have adjusted really well and seem to really like being with her. Her name is Morgan so when I refer to Mrs. Morgan, you know who I am talking about now. She is a graduate of one of the local universities and taking online classes so this works perfect with her schedule. She took them to Chick-fil-A today to play and have lunch. I love that she follows our rules and makes the kids use their manners. I told Pippa in the bath the other night “no ma’am” and Monks said “you sound just like Mrs. Morgan! Hers always says ma’am.” We got her some car seats for the kids to keep in her car so now she can take them places! I also told her she could have play dates with Tia and Adrian and she liked that a lot. We’re off to a good start!

My babies look so old and grown up! She said they had the best time!

My Crazy Boy

We were in HEB on Sunday and this guy passed us smelling of a really good cologne. Aikman looked at me and said "hey, I just smelled Phil right there!" Phil always smells really good and he knows it!

Monks got upset with Pippa the other day and we said something about him and her playing together. He told us at the table "nope, I only share my toys with my sweet cousin Adrian!" We laughed.

I bought Aikman some Valentine stickers and these little foam peel and stick animals to make some pictures. He asked if they were for him and Pippa and I told him they were and he then told me "momma, I love you so much! You are my best girl ever!" Talk about melting my heart! He says the sweetest things!

Weekend Update

I think Pippa was having some issues with her teeth. They all seem to be in, but maybe they cut through a little more? She ran fever starting Thursday night and I had to hold her all night and rock her. Friday, Ms. Morgan said she had fever and she gave her Motrin during the day. She said she cuddled all day with her. When I got home, she was sitting on the couch in her lap. Fast forward to nighttime and she had a hard time going to sleep. Finally, after crying here and there, she was out. I heard her at 10:30 and had to rock her. I would get her to sleep and try to lay her down. She woke up each time. I thought I would just let her cry it out, knowing she was exhausted and would just go to sleep, but all she did was wake up Monks and make Apollo howl. I put Aikman in my room and went to rock her. Next thing I knew, it was 9:15 Saturday morning and Pips was in my lap just staring at me. Monks was still sound asleep in my room and Devin was with him. I never even heard Devin come in at 7. We got up and ate breakfast and Monks came running in the kitchen. He ate three bowls of Fruity Pebbles which he calls “Froofy Petals.” He can say fruity and he can say pebbles but when forced to combine them, it comes out like that. Silly boy. We ate and then played and around 11:00, Tia and Adrian came over. The kids all played and then we fed them lunch. Pippa took a really good nap and woke up at 6:10! Poor girl. She had no more fever or issues after that nap. Monks was a good boy all day so while Devin put Pippa to bed, we went to get some dessert! He wanted “an ice cream cone with white ice cream in it.” We went to McDonalds and he got one. He loved it. He had a little ice cream goatee going on, but it was worth it.

Sunday we woke up and Monks requested Daddy make sausage and eggs for breakfast. After a great breakfast, we got showered and dressed to go to a few stores. We went to Big Lots to buy a pan, Dollar Tree to buy some Valentine stickers and HEB for a few things. We then went home and hung out around the house. I made spaghetti for dinner and the kids tore it up. Aikman had four servings and Pips had three! We also had a salad with it, but the kids like to just pick the stuff out. After dinner we went to get dessert. We went by Jack N Jill to get Pips a doughnut with cherry icing and Devin got a cappuccino. Monks got an ice cream cone from Sonic and I got a caramel mocha frozen drink. It was so good. We drove around listening to music for a little while and then it was home to get ready for bed! Nothing too exciting but Christmas stuff did get put away and we organized some closets. Being productive is nice.

Look at her sitting there!
Every Hot Wheel Monks owns. He has a chest full of other cars,  but we wanted only Hot Wheels. I wanted to count them but didn't feel like thinking that much. Lol.

This is Monks taking a nap. He sleeps with his hands behind his head and he set all those animals on  himself and then went to sleep. Nothing like napping with Bob the tomato, a few lions, dogs and monkeys on your chest.

Razor Ramon Pips

Devin took these the other night after baths. He combed her hair back to look like Razor Ramon (an old wrestler). If she would have had a toothpick, it would have been perfect! She is too cute! Look at that face!

Happy New Year!

We brought in the New Year with a bang! We went over to Mike and Jenny’s and it just so happened Mike and Devin were off that night! That is a first! Pete worked during the day so he was off in the evening and Phil worked and had to close, but still managed to get there about 8:30ish. Jennifer came over too along with her boyfriend/fiancĂ©e Kirk. Jenny cooked us a great feast! We had queso, buffalo chicken tacos, Mexican eggrolls, green chile sliders, a veggie tray, sausage, cheese and crackers and two desserts! A cheesecake dip and oatmeal raisin cookies. Jennifer brought a yummy potato casserole. We ate a lot and then played games. We played Bezzerwizzer and Loaded Questions. We put the babies (well small toddlers) to bed about 8:15 and then Monks stayed up until about 9:30. We bought some sparkling grape juice for him and so he toasted everyone before bedtime. He drank 3 little glasses! Lol. Everyone had some beer and Tio had to bust out his Wild Turkey while Kirk brought over a bottle of Crown Royal Maple. I never tried it since it smelled like straight maple syrup but the guys seemed to enjoy it. I was content with my one Miller Lite. Before we knew it, it was 11:50 and we had to get the champagne out! We all got a glass and went and counted down! Happy New Year! Another memorable holiday for us. Jen and Kirk left about 12:35 and we all got on the couches about 2:00. I know I say it all the time but nothing beats family, food and fun! Hope you have a great 2013!

See Monks' mini wine glass? I used to use that at Thanksgiving when I was younger.
Toasting it up!
He looks so old here just chilling with the boys.
I have to admit my eyes look a little glossy here but I promise you I only had one beer.
Jenny with her serious face lol She also has on Pippa's hot pink bow.

I never saw this pic until a few days ago. Already a little beer slave. Lol.

My little mexican Pips. Gigi bought this for Monks at the mercado one year.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning Devin and I woke up about 7:15 and he started the grill to smoke the brisket. It had cooked low and slow all night and smelled awesome. I began our breakfast casserole. Pete got up and the kids were still asleep! Monks finally woke about 8:15 and ran into the living room to see what Santa had left! He got a remote control monster truck! He was beyond thrilled and immediately wanted to play with it. He dumped out his stocking and found all kinds of neat things! He got a little Hulk that lights up, crayons, Slim Jim's, a pack of Bubble Yum, Blow Pop candies, gummi savers, two Hot Wheels, Avenger Legos and Sour Straws and a Reese's tree. He was so excited! Pippa woke up about twenty minutes later and he led her into the living room where Santa brought her a kitchen! She walked over to it and was just looking and looking and Monks was trying to explain to her it was hers and she then dumped out her stocking. She had an Iron Man that lights up, Slim Jim's, gummi savers, a cookies and cream Nutcracker, a Santa Pez, bracelets and three necklaces. She will be stylin. Everyone else came over shortly after that and we ate snacks and the casserole and then began to open our gifts! The kids were loaded up with stuff and it is so funny because they were all so different. Aikman wants to open any present he sees, for him or not. Adrian only wanted your bow and would come around and jack your bow off your gift. Pippa wanted to make you do the work of opening them, and would stand there and then would take whatever it was out of the box and get excited. Someone is a little diva. Aikman got so many things! He got clothes, a bulldozer, a Lite Bright, Nerf guns, several puzzles (including one made one with family photos and cubes), candy, cars, The Aristocats on DVD, coloring supplies and I am sure I am leaving several things off because I know his shelves are completely full. Pips made out like a little bandit as well. She got clothes, a puzzle, jewelry, shoes, tons of play food and a shopping cart, a toy baking set, and several stuffed animals. We then ate lunch and had brisket, a loaded hash brown casserole, jalapeno corn, homemade mac and cheese and jalapeno poppers. For dessert, we had a jello dish that didn't look pretty, but tasted really good. You layer crushed pretzels, a sweet cream cheese mixture and then jello. Sounds weird but was tasty! Monks even said "damn, this is good!" when he tasted it. While I don't appreciate his word choice, I am glad he liked it. We ate so much. After lunch, everyone took naps and Tio had to work at 4. We lounged and ate all day while watching movies. We even got snow! It wasn't super thick, but enough you could see it on the ground. It was crazy cold so we never went out in it.

Santa ate some cookies and drank his milk!
Look what Santa brought!

So my hair is gross, we still look cute. :)
