Random Pics

One Friday night for dinner, we went to Buffalo Wold Wings. We had a lot of fun and Pips enjoyed the fried pickles while Monks enjoyed cheering on the Rangers!

At one game, we had 4 players! Eventually, three more showed up late, so we played with 7 but we started the game like this. Lol. Our sweet team.
Painting with Q-tips! They had the best time. Monks liked to dot his, while Pips liked to smear hers. My little artists!

We made Gak! It felt so weird in your hands! They had a great time with it!

Pips found this crown in her drawer that Gigi had bought years ago and she wanted to wear it around the house. You go girl! She is SO my daughter. Ha ha. She looked gorgeous in it too!

Happy 4th of July

We really enjoyed our Fourth of July! We woke up, ordered IHOP to go and ate at home together. We then got dressed to go do a little shopping! Nothing was crazy cheap to me. I wanted a good sale! I ended up just buying Pips a top and a skirt and Lucas a few pairs of pajamas. Devin got a new phone charger and then we headed home for naps! The kids ate lunch and then went to sleep. Our company was arriving at 3 so I had a few more things to prep. Sadly, everyone in my family had to work so we didn’t even see any of them. That is a first! It was really weird to me. Kirk, Jennifer and Kierstyn came over though and we had so much fun! We grilled and had so much food. We started out with chips and dip, a veggie tray and Monks’ favorite meat and cheese tray. Devin grilled ribs, steak ka bobs and sausage and I made beans, jalapeno poppers and two desserts. One éclair one and one with angel food cake, berries and whipped cream! The kids loved it! They brought over burgers, sausage, queso and a potato casserole. Man it was awesome! We had so much left and so Devin took some to his dispatchers at work. This was his first time ever making ribs! They had the best flavor to them. It was a huge success! We had bought the kids some fireworks so we sat outside late afternoon setting them off. We had several fountains, climbing pandas, a monster truck one, these snakes, firecracker bombs, sparklers and those little poppy things. Pippa loved the sparklers but refused to hold one. She always had to sit in someone’s lap. It was close to 9 when I put Pips down and at 9:40, they got ready to leave. Jen and I had to work Friday. Monks was so sweet telling everyone goodbye and he told Kierstyn several times he loved her and thanked them for coming. He also said “Be careful going home so you don’t wreck!” Lol. Such a sweet guy. There were a few people around us doing fireworks so while I cleaned, Monks and Devin sat on the driveway watching them.

Fireworks

Abilene did their fireworks Wednesday night instead of Thursday night, the actual 4th. They said since most people were off Thursday, there would be a bigger turnout versus those who have to work Friday might not want to stay out so late. I could care less normally, but Devin works Wed nights and is off starting Thursday so that meant he couldn't come with us! I wanted the kids to enjoy them so I gave them their baths like normal and then at 8:45, instead of being tucked in, we got some blankets and pillows and loaded up the back of the Tahoe. I filled a bucket with juice boxes, Cracker Jacks, sour pitch kids, Twizzlers and glow bracelets and necklaces! We decided to leave at 9:10 even though they didn't start until 10. The traffic gets crazy and we wanted to be ready. We parked in a field near Shotwell which is right by the zoo, where they do them at. We had a great seat. About 9:45, I could tell Pips was getting sleepy and restless. The grass was high in some places, so I was NOT about to let them run around in it. She just walked around inside the back part of the car. At 10 exactly, they started! The show lasted a good 25 minutes and the kids loved them so much. Pips ended up laying down on her pillow and covered up with her blanket and just enjoyed them all snuggled up! Traffic was hell right after so we waited about ten minutes and then joined the line to leave. It was now 10:40. Pips was already falling asleep and Aikman and I were just having a good ole' time talking about things. They had police everywhere directing traffic and so we got rerouted a few times and made it home at 11:30! I carried Pips in and then Monks and I went back out to get the blankets and pillows. We both went to bed as soon as we got in. It was so much fun though! Monks thanked me for taking him as I tucked him in. Precious boy.

Snack Bucket!
Our lovely VIP seating....
This was at the house still lol but I love this pic!
Out in the field......about to start!

My camera is horrible at night and yes, those are someone's headlights right in our face. I yelled three times for them to turn them off. About 8 minutes in, they finally did. Thanks super considerate people!

Can they be any more comfy?

It SOLD

Friday, June 28, we closed on our house. We sold our first home. It is official. I felt so many things that day in the office as I signed the papers with Devin. I was thrilled, grateful, sad, scared and a few other things. The kids sat on this couch behind us in the office. It was quiet as we signed some papers and Jim, our realtor was next to Devin. All of a sudden Aikman says, "Momma, this is so boring!" We all laughed and I gave him that look like stop sweetheart! The attorney we met with was so nice and said he had to agree with Aikman. This was a pretty boring process. Lol. It took about 8 minutes and then we were on our way. We thanked Jim again and left to get in our car. We went to drive by the Jefferson house one last time and to take a pic of the SOLD sign in the yard, but it was already gone. It was no longer our house. I cried for a while before coming back to work. I loved that house so much and will always remember everything about it. We kept the old house numbers and I am going to frame one of the numbers and hang it in our new living room. Two full months on the market and we already closed on it. Thank God. It was a tough process at times and everything that could go wrong pretty much did but we remained positive and here we are now. We love you little Jefferson house! Be good to your new family!

Weekend Update/Random Stories

This past weekend was so relaxing! We had our game and hung out at the house and ate and swam and played and ate and swam and played. Sunday we did some shopping. Relaxing and fun. It was so nice. We sure needed it!

Monks had to have this from the $1 bin at Target. He looks like a little soldier.
He jacked my hot and sour soup! Little Panda's is spicy too! He loves it so much.
Watching Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures
Not in the best mood first thing in the morning. I said say cheese! and got this.
But at night, she sleeps like a little princess! So cute!
Tearing up some three bean turkey chili! She also had grapes and a hot dog bun.
Monks and Pips made a tent. He had my phone to use the flashlight but apparently he took pics as well. She looks like a wild, homeless little beast girl.

Pips started calling Aikman "Bubba" this weekend! Devin calls him that a lot and she picked up on it. She yells it over and over again for him. We pointed to him and said who is this and she said "bub-buh" I wish I had his reaction on video. He was in heaven! He said "hers called me bubba!!! She knows me!!!" He would ask her who am I over and over again and each time she said bubba. He did it all weekend with her and is still doing it. I think it is so sweet she has a nickname for him and even sweeter he adores it so much! She also said Pete a few times. She kind of says it like ET and makes it more of a "Peeet" Precious! I tried to get it on Instagram, but couldn't figure out how to work the video. I know, I know, I am challenged when it comes to technology and it is sad.

Devin took the kids to the park last Friday and Monks had to pee so they went in one of the park bathrooms. Yes, they are dirty and he ended up just going outside, but this was how their convo went down:

Monks: Daddy, this bathroom is so disgusting!
Devin: Yeah, it is pretty dirty.
Monks: Why is it so gross in here?
Devin: Lots of people use it and it is outside so it gets dirty.
Monks: Someone should clean it.
Devin: Yes, someone should.
Monks: yeah--like a woman!

Devin said he laughed so hard! I was told this story when they picked me up from work and I said Aikman Allen, why does a woman have to clean it? He said i don't know and just smiled. I said yeah, boys can clean, just like girls can. Devin and Aikman kept looking at each other smiling. I couldn't wait to tell my Lieutenant, I knew he would get a real kick out of it. Crazy crazy monkey. He says the most random things.
