Crazy Monks

Last night for dinner Aikman and I ate lasagna and had some veggies on the side. He ate it so well with his fork. He ate all I had put on his plate and then said more peas! I had stripped him down though so he was just in a diaper. When he was finished eating, he had some on his chest and his mouth and hands were dirty and I said you ready for your bath monks? and he said oh! I'm dirty! I could not stop laughing.

Pippa's Nursery

Yes, we still have some stuff to hang on the walls. We don't procrastinate at all! We are still waiting on our Kid's Village signs, that should be any day now and some pics and shelves. I love her bedding, I have not tied the bumper on yet. The bee picture above the closet is one Aikman colored at the sitters and I just love it so had it framed. That cross above her door is really special to me too, especially now. When I was in high school, I had a "rebellious" summer my junior year (stupid teenagers) and my mom made it and hung it above my bedroom door. She just painted it white and put some stickers on it and I have always loved it. I still need some pics for the frames on the little chest. This afternoon will be a busy one finishing it all! I am so glad we went with all the colors we did. I feel it is so happy and cheerful and Pippa-ish! Three more days and our baby girl will be here!

Sweet clothes! She already has a huge wardrobe, they go to the other side also!

Her bumper is also reversible and when we lower the crib mattress , you will see the yellow trim at the bottom of the skirt. I love it! That little thing you see on the crib edge with circles, I am told, is called "bunting" and you hang it. My friend Stephanni made it and the blanket on the arm of her chair. Too cute!

Our New Bathroom!

So we have had it finished since the first week of July but I took forever in posting these. I absolutely love our bathroom! I have not finished decorating it yet. We have a few things for the walls so that will be the only difference. It feels so much cleaner and it is so relaxing to be in there.

old mirror was here

So old and outdated!

Does this floor not make you wanna throw up in your mouth a little? HATED it!

Cute right?

Demolition started!

Creepy under the bottom cabinet! I never opened it for fear we would be attacked by something!

Ahhh, perfection! I LOVE the window!

Wall Cabinets

Creepy cabinet no more!

These tiles are grey so no idea if they flash made them light or what but they are dark grey.

No more dumb space heater to the side!

Our Last Weekend With Just Monks!

It was our last weekend with just one child so we wanted to spend every second with our precious boy! Saturday Devin got out of class at 2:30 which worked out great, Monks had an appointment to get his haircut at 3:00. We got the haircut and he looks oh so handsome. He looks so much older when it is cut. Where did the time go L After his haircut we went and got some ice cream. You can add your own toppings and Aikman LOVED the Reese’s pieces Devin put on some of his. He just wanted those. We then headed to Kid’s Village to check on our wall art we had ordered and get anything we needed or should I say wanted last minute. They had just received some of the cutest little back packs for kids. It is so hard to find a little one! I fell in love with the robot one, but once Devin saw one with “woo-woo’s” (any vehicle with a siren) Monks wanted that one. It has fire trucks, police cars, ambulances and helicopters on it. He was adorable with it on. I told Devin to take it off of him, it made me start to cry seeing him with his big boy hair and backpack on. We bought Pippa some headbands since they were 50% off and looked around. They have this area with toys like a big kitchen, a table and chairs, wooden food and a giant dollhouse. As soon as we walk in the doors he heads to the table and sits down. He likes this fake cupcake stand and takes them all off and then puts them back on. This time there was a wooden cake with candles so he enjoyed taking them out and putting them back in. He would occasionally yell Momma or Daddy and then we would let him see us and he would continue to play. It is not a big store, you can see him from everywhere if any of you are wondering if we just abandoned our son to shop lol He called me over to show me some cookies he had on a plate and pointed to the ground and said sit here momma. I laughed and so did the cashier and I said monkey, I cannot sit on the ground, it is too hard to get up and he said it’s hard? And I said yes, for me right now and he said okay and kept playing. When it was time to leave he pushed in his chair and took his “pack-pack” as he calls it and we then headed to meet Tia at Sears. We were looking for a new microwave, ours just went out the other day! He rode the escalator for the first time ever and would just smile and smile on it like whoa, what is this?? He liked jumping off holding Devin’s hand. We then went to K-Mart and then to Target. At Target, Devin went to the toy section while Tia and I went to the baby/kid’s section. We then went to meet in the middle and heard these sirens and I saw this box in the basket. I said what is that and Monks was just smiling and said wook momma, a truck! It was this big K-9 Unit SUV that had buttons you push to make it go forward and backward and had all kinds of noises from sirens to someone yelling “get down on the ground” to the Cops theme song lol I told Devin he just got a back pack and Devin said yeah but babe it’s a K-9 one! My two crazy cop loving men. How could I say no? Let me tell you Aikman has not let that toy out of his sight since he got it. He woke up Sunday and went straight to Pippa’s room to get it out, he knew he had left it in there and then this morning when I went to get him up, I said hey monkey, how did you sleep and he stood up and pointed to his shelf and said my truck! Lol and went and got it. Anyway, after shopping, we were hungry starving so we brought Tio some dinner at work and then went to Golden Corral. I know it’s scary and expensive and sometimes dirty lol but their food is so good. After, we went home. Aikman played with his car, Tia and I hung up Pippa’s clothes, and Devin hung her curtains. Tia also went through all of Monk’s old clothes to get some things for Adrian. Oh it was so sweet to see all those outfits again. I promise, every outfit, seriously, I can tell you something special about when he wore it.  She ended up having two huge tubs full of stuff and Devin loaded them in the car. She only turned down all the Santa/Christmas stuff lol and the classic My First Thanksgiving shirt that Gigi bought Aikman. Pippa will wear it so it’s all good J We also kept all the Halloween outfits and costumes since Adrian should not arrive until mid November so should that sweet man come early, she can take them. We did all this until about 10:15 and I swear I did not realize it was so late. Monks was still up helping Daddy in Pippa’s room. He picked up all the screws Devin would drop from the ladder. Tia left and Devin and I just sat in Pippa’s room and talked, cried, laughed and thought about what this week would be like. We went to bed finally at 2:30. I was a little shocked to hear Aikman yelling Momma at 7:40 but he had a dirty diaper so that is what woke him up I am sure. I walked in and said you’re up early and he yelled Momma! I pooped! I just laughed. We then waited about forty minutes before waking up Devin because we were hungry. We went and got breakfast burritos from a place called Oscar’s and drinks from Sonic. We went home to eat and I gave Monks some cereal with a peach but he wanted some of Devin’s burrito. He had chorizo and egg and he took a bite and said yummy and then asked for more so Devin leaned to give him more and he said no, want ot sauce (hot sauce). He poured him some on there and he kept saying yum and then once he swallowed he said more and would open his mouth. It was so funny how he would only eat it with salsa. He loves spicy things. We kind of just hung out all day playing at home and we needed to go to the grocery store but we were lazy and it was hot out. We took a 4 hour nap! All of us! It was so nice. We then ate dinner and about 6:50 Devin said he was going to Wal-Mart to get the small things we needed like milk, shampoo and bathroom stuff and juice plus we still needed our microwave! So he took Monks while I cleaned the kitchen and living room. They were gone about 45 minutes and then I heard a soft knock on the door. I opened it and it was Aikman with a bag. He said here go! I took it from him and then he went back to help Devin. He carries one thing at a time and sets it on the table and then goes back out lol I was then handed a bag that had a surprise for me! It was some key lime pie! I had been wanting some so bad! My sweet boys. J What a great way to end the weekend!

I will take pics of the bathroom and nursery tonight to post tomorrow before my leave starts! Four more days until our baby girl makes her appearance!

Last Appointment And Then Pippa Is Here!

I had my last appointment yesterday! Dr. McCain said no more appointments since next week we will have our baby! Eight more days. Wow. Still blows my mind. All was well yesterday. She said I was measuring to be 41 weeks along and we just hit 38 weeks today lol It was also funny because normally as soon as she puts that Doppler thing on my stomach, you hear the heartbeat and when she did it yesterday, you heard this loud boom noise and she pulled back and said she just pushed me away! You could seriously see my stomach moving and Devin was in a chair about a few feet from me and he said it was just moving constantly near the bottom and rolling. Lol So Dr. McCain pushed a little harder and was moving it around and Pippa kept moving too. She said I think she is trying to avoid me and so when she was able to get her still long enough to hear it, she said it was 163 (last time it was 153). When we walked out I went to the check out part and said I won’t have any more appointments, do I need to do anything? And she said I know! Nope, you are good, congratulations Sarah! We walked out just smiling! I can’t wait to see my sweet girl!

My Little Musician

I am really enjoying how much Aikman likes to sing and dance. He loves to hear music and move to it. The other night on TV some music was on and he climbed on the ottoman and started dancing. He was shaking his hips side to side but moving his hands like little crab claws above his head and turning his wrists. It was the funniest thing. Devin and I could not stop laughing. I really wonder if he sees something like that and is copying it or he just moves how he wants. He also loves to sing. I need to record some and have Tio upload it to You Tube and then we can post it here. He sounds so sweet singing too, especially slow songs because he sings high lol He also puts so much emphasis on certain words and his expressions make me laugh. He loves to sing:

The Alphabet
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
The Peanut Song Gigi taught him
A Go To Sleep song
Rock A Bye Baby
The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Monks Got Rained On

The other night when I had Monks in the tub and it was filling up, I ran to my room to grab my tweezers to touch up my eyebrows. Seriously it would take me not even 10 seconds. While I was coming around the bed I heard Monks not start to cry but whine and he yelled Momma! And it was like a scared tone in his voice and I could tell the water sounded different. He can’t reach the thing to control the temperature so I freaked and thought what the heck so I ran back in there (this was all in a few seconds like I said) and when I got to the bathroom he was sitting there with his hands above his head trying to cover his face and he said turn off momma off! He had tried to pull a loofah I had hanging on the faucet off and when he pulled on it, it turned the shower on so he was getting rained on. I had to laugh. I know it just scared him and instead of getting up, he just sat there covering his face. He was so cute looking.

I Cold Momma

Devin was at class the other night and Aikman and I were watching TV and he said I am cold Momma and I said okay, want a blanket? and he said blanket! and ran to the room. Apparently he ran to our room and grabbed Devin's UT shorts and came back and sat on the pillows and covered up with his shorts. I said what are you doing and he just smiled at me and watched TV sitting like that. I of course had to grab the camera.

We Have A Floater!

Saturday after Aikman’s nap, we went swimming. He wore one of his little floatie suits Gigi had bought him last summer. He is getting so good about kicking his feet and moving his arms to swim. He can kick to get where he wants to go but wants you to move his top half for him so Devin finally got him to move his arms. It’s so cute because it is like a doggy paddle he does. His little arms are under the water but he is moving them and swam to the ladder (with Devin still holding his stomach of course) from the middle of the pool. He did however float on his own! We had been working on it, but he always stays tense and uses his abs to sit up. This day he was ready. Devin laid him down and he put his arms out and tried to sit up a little but Devin got him to relax and he floated! He did it for about 2 minutes on his own! Devin was not touching him at all. We were so proud of him and he even told me wook momma wook but he said it so slow like I can’t move much or I might sink. It was hilarious. When he was ready he went to sit up and Devin grabbed him and you could tell by the smile on his face he was so proud of himself. We were ecstatic and could not praise him enough. My baby is so not a baby anymore. He is just precious and learning new things daily. He would stay in the water all day if you let him. He also tans very well which made his light skinned daddy happy J He has the funniest farmer’s tan from wearing his swim shirts with his trunks.

How cute does he look? That last pic with the crazy smile is his cheese! When you get out your camera or phone he immediately says cheese and poses and holds it and so by the time you take the pic, he has been like that for a few seconds and it comes out silly. He still looks adorable though! Notice his crossed ankles lol He is a crazy boy I tell you! He also is the first one we get ready when we go to swim and so he has to wait on us and he will repeatedly say I'm ready! Ready Momma? I'm ready? Daddy you ready? I ready! Ready sim?

Ladybugs=Fun and Fear

Tio and Tia came over one night to swim with us and it’s so funny because once we got in the pool he wanted nothing to do with me and everything to do with Tio. I don’t throw him or play rough with him in the water like guys do so Tia and I barely existed to him for a little while. He swam with Tio, rode on his back, was thrown in the air, jumped from the ladder and had a great time. There was a ladybug on Tia and Tio put it on his floatie and showed it to him. We knew since it was a bug that he would say eww and he did but he was interested. Well I can’t stand anything that crawls so even lady bugs creep me out. I held Aikman while Tio put it on his arm. He watched it in awe and once it got past his elbow he grabbed it and we thought smashed it but it was still alive. Tio showed him how to be easy and put it back on him. He was fine until it got to a certain point on him and then he kind of freaked. He would be like eww and swat at it and try to get it off. I guess because it tickled. The higher it got on him, the closer it got to me so I was ewwing the whole time and trying to hold him away from me. He was so funny because he liked it and wanted to see it but then wouldn’t and be scared of it. It entertained him forever and that was one tough lady bug because he smashed it several times. He was too cute to watch.

Monks Mini Shower

So not only was Pippa showered with gifts, my sweet monkey was thought of by people too. J Sears bought him a football and a soccer ball. He loved them! He finally knows how to kick the soccer ball without falling over it lol He is also getting very good at throwing balls. He will be my little athlete. He was so excited to be opening them. Tio & Tia also got him the best shirt ever, a Rocky t-shirt. I really will need to frame it after he grows out of it. I love it! My sweet boy is loved by so many.

A little more interested in the trash than the shirt lol

Pippa's Baby Shower

My shower was very nice and everyone had a great time. It was a very tough day for a lot of us without Gigi there, but I was so happy to see eight of her coworkers show up all together. Sears was probably lost without them for those few hours but they all came to celebrate anyway. Pippa got so many wonderful things. Sadly at the time we were naming her Olivia so there are O’s as decorations on certain things lol Our food was so good! We had two types of pasta salads, pastry wrapped asparagus, a fruit tray, cheese cut into the most precious shapes, caramelized onion bruschetta, meatballs and stuffed mushrooms. Our dessert table had brownies, Jerolyn’s famous thumbprint cookies, crème puffs and cupcakes. We played two different games, our classic package game and one where you had to guess how many gummy bears were in the giant bottle. Doris from Sears won the package game and Tia Net won the gummies. Thanks everyone!

We Have Decided....

After going back and forth several times because I love both, we have decided to name our baby girl Pippa Grace. I love it and think it goes great with Aikman. Aikman Allen and Pippa Grace. Too cute huh? She will be too precious. We also have asked Monks several times what his sister's name is and he says "Peppa" and smiles this big smile. He never could say Olivia lol

So thank you William and Kate for your gorgeous wedding. Without it, I never would have heard the name Pippa. Too sweet!

Father's Day At The State Park

This was Aikman's first trip to a public pool and he loved it. He sat right in the kiddie pool and would walk on his hands and let his body float. He was so funny. It really wasn't too crowded so it was nice that we had room to play with him, even in the big pool. He thought people jumping off the high dive was so funny and he even learned to jump off the side of the pool into Devin's arms. Problem is he likes to just jump and you may not be ready. He went under several times on his own and would come up and just wipe his face. It scares me because yes I am one of those people who need to plug their nose to swim across a pool underwater much less when I jump in somewhere. He seems to know how to hold his breath though and while I panic and my heart stops, Devin praises him and lets him do it repeatedly. I know that is good, but it is scary to see him go under. I know I should not worry when he comes right up smiling. Crazy boy. He has always loved the water. I am glad for that. Plus, he had the best time and was laughing and smiling non stop.

So excited and on our way!

Stepped right in and sat down.

Heading to big pool.....

The life jacket did not stay on long, he wanted to "sim" without it!

About to head home......snack of goldfish........

About 4 minutes after we left the park. Preciousness.
