Baby Updates!!

We have a crawler now! Pips had gone two “crawls/steps” and then would stop but today I got a video from Tia of her crawling across their den floor to grab a toy. It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen! She constantly tries to pull up on stuff and gets to her knees each time but can only get to her feet in her crib. Devin went to get her up from her nap one afternoon and called me in there and she was just standing up holding the crib and smiling her huge smile. Crazy how she seemed so baby one minute and now she is on the move. I adore her!

She has done so well on table food too! She loves these turkey/carrot and spinach/cheese ravioli’s. I made her a quesadilla last night and she ate over half of it along with corn, a pear, yes a whole pear I peeled, and some veggie puffs. I found these things at Natural Grocers and they were called Veggie Puffs so I got them for her. They look like c shaped cheetos that have a dark green powder on them. It really looks like moss you find at the lake. I got her, Aikman and myself one and we all ate them at once. She continued to chew and as soon as Monks and I bit in, we both were like um, no. He stuck his tongue out and said I not like this momma and I said me either! We spit in the trash. She continued to eat them and just smiled and smiled. Yuck! They don’t look appetizing and they definitely don’t taste it so she gets has the whole bag to herself now. She is a huge yogurt fan too. It’s cute.

Aikman is all about Pippa becoming mobile. He cheers her on when she tries to crawl and gets so excited when she pulls up on stuff. He ALWAYS says you did it baby girl! or great job sweet girl! He will ask her daily how she slept and if she had sweet dreams. I may have mentioned that before but to hear him say those words is the sweetest thing ever. He even told her this morning when she was in her car seat ready to go “I love you so much Pippa!”

He had me laughing so hard last night at dinner. I was quoting something from a movie and he laughed so hard. Not only was it hilarious hearing his laugh, but he had his head down on the table and was hitting the table with his hand. He then lifted and shook his head as you told me “now that was funny momma!” Lol. At least I can make my kids laugh!

Memorial Day

I was off Memorial Day and Devin is off on Mondays so I was so excited the four of us had time to be together after a busy weekend. We went out to see Grandpa again since Devin wasn’t able to go on Saturday. The cemetery looks so beautiful with so many flags flying on holidays. It makes me so proud of my dad every time I go out there. We then went to Target as we had to get the sheets for Aikman’s other bunk. When we went to buy them originally, they only had one set in a twin, so we just bought for the bottom bunk and needed them for the top. We also bought him two shelves to finish his room décor. We then went home to eat lunch and Pete and Phil met us there. We all ate and hung out and then everyone was so tired we all fell asleep while Monks watched some show. Pete and Phil left around 3 and we then laid Aikman down for his nap and Pips was still asleep. Devin and I fell back asleep ha ha. We woke about 5 to Pippa talking and got her up. Aikman was still asleep so Devin went and set up his pool we bought him at Academy. It was so sweet when he woke up and looked out the kitchen window. He turned to us and said my swimming pool!! We then lathered the kids up with sunscreen and got them ready to go. Devin got in with the kids and I just put my feet in. It had been like high 90’s if not right at 100, but as soon as we went out to get in, it became cloudy and overcast. They swam for about 35 minutes. Aikman was all over the place and loved it. Pippa was on her bottom sitting in the pool but she is constantly trying to stand and pull herself up and after wiggling so much and going under twice, we decided to get her floatie. We put her in it but since her feet touched, she was trying to walk and lean over the edge and it was so hard to keep up with her. She was hilarious. We got the kids out just in time. About twenty minutes later a storm hit out of nowhere and the wind was insanely strong. Our chairs were blowing all around the yard and Aikman was yelling for us to bring in Apollo. We had laid the pool over our patio table to dry and put clay pots filled with sand on top of it and the pots blew off. I ran out to get the floatie before it took off and Aikman was at the door yelling be careful momma, be careful. I thought aww, he is so concerned about me. I then brought it in and set it in the dining room and said I need to get your pool, it is about to blow away and he looked so upset and said well hurry momma! Get my pool, hurry up, go outside and get it! Wow, thanks for your concern about me lol as dirt is blowing in my face and I am struggling to get the pool. It was hilarious. I brought the pool in and shut the door and he said whoa, that was a close one. Ha! Stinker. Devin had gone to pick up some wings we ordered. Wow, the Anderson’s love wings ha ha. Second time in three days. Anyway, I called Devin and he said he was about to be home and it was crazy outside. I told him about me having to bring that stuff in and he just laughed. It poured that night and several people lost power. Our flickered but never went out. We put Pippa to bed and watched Night at the Museum and went to bed. Happy Memorial Day!

How sweet are they here? Everyone at work loves this pic.

At Target. Lol. Goofy smile.

Preciousness!

Weekend Update

This weekend started off great! Friday night I got to keep Sweet Man AKA Adrian overnight! Tio and Tia were celebrating their anniversary so he stayed with us. I took him home with me when I picked up the kids at 5 from Tia. Phil came over too and we ordered pizza and wings and all hung out. Sadly Adrian didn’t take part in any of that, but he seemed satisfied with his tub of carrots. J I gave him a bath with Pippa and he just splashed and had fun. I put him to bed at 9 and he slept all night! He didn’t wake until 7:08 the next morning. Sweet man. I was so paranoid though because Jenny told me he would probably wake up, as he has been in the middle of the night. Not paranoid, I would have to get up, hello, I have two babies, but paranoid I never heard him and so I constantly checked on him and was waking up nearly every thirty minutes. So weird! Lol. Each time I peeked in on him, he was just sound asleep looking all precious and perfect. I put Adrian in a play pen in Monks room and Monks slept in my bed with me since Devin was working that night. We all woke up to happy babies and had breakfast.

I got all the kids dressed and ready for the day and about 10 put Pippa and Adrian down for their morning nap. Tio and Tia came over about 11. Pete and Phil came shortly after and we all headed to the cemetery to take Grandpa flowers for Memorial Day. After, we all ate lunch at Sharky’s and then headed our separate ways. Mid afternoon Tia, Adrian and I went to HEB to get the stuff for Sunday’s events. My babies were sleeping so Devin stayed home with them. I came home from the store and we just hung out until Devin had to leave for work.

Sunday was spent cleaning up and hanging our red white and blue decorations! We grilled that afternoon and Tio, Tia and Adrian came over, along with our friend Jennifer (who Tio and I work with) and her teenage daughter Kierstyn. Devin grilled hamburgers and sausage and we had all the trimmings. I made potato salad, beans and bacon wrapped jalapenos. Tia made ceviche (crab meat, avocado, black beans, cilantro, lime juice and cucumbers) and dessert. It was this super yummy and light angel food cake with pineapple in it. It was delicious. I also tried two new recipes! I made shrimp tossed with a packet of dry Italian dressing and baked over a bed of melted butter and lemon slices. Um, hello! Amazing. I also made a punch type drink that I didn’t care for but Jennifer and Tia seemed to think it was decent. It tasted watery for some reason and I never even added ice. You mix a bottle of white wine with three cans of Fresca and add fresh fruit. I put sliced peaches, strawberries and grapes. Just eh. Might have been the wine I used. Aikman just adores Kierstyn and played with her forever. He said she was his new friend. J Precious. After dinner, we played games and they stayed until 11:40! It was such a great time and we all laughed a lot. Poor Pete and Phil had to work that night but they came over Monday to eat and hang out.

Should We Call Animal Control?

Devin "caught" this monkey in our living room the other afternoon. Pips better scoot back! Those monkey paws might grab her. Lol. I was surprised he fit in there.

Wholly Cow!

There is a fairly new restaurant in town called Wholly Cow. They serve hamburgers mainly but have some other grill items. It is so good and I think one of Devin’s new favorite places to eat. We went twice in four days. Lol. When we walked in the second time, the girl at the register said hey, I remember y’all! She said I remember your super cute kids! Aikman loves their hot dogs (he loves all hot dogs I guess) and the last time we went I did not take anything for Pips to eat so we ordered her a grilled cheese. She ate it all! I gave her all but the crust part. They have a variety of breads, cheeses, veggies and sauces. You order everything separate, but the prices are very reasonable. Anyway, we took these pics there. Aikman does that cheesy huge smile and when we ask him to smile like a normal boy, he says, and I quote, “I am smiling like the Hulk!” Crazy boy.

Hulk action

Kids meals come with a free cup of ice cream

Watermelon!

We ate our watermelon the other night. Pips tasted it and immediately reached for more. She loved it! I knew she would. Aikman loves it too so we all ate at the table and had juice just running down our arms. Ahh, summertime.

Poor Pippa. Poor Daddy.

The other day Devin texted me a picture of Pippa and she was in her towel and he said she was fresh out of the bath. I thought to myself, aww, my baby and then I thought uh oh, why was she taking a bath late afternoon. I immediately texted him back and said what happened and then a text popped up. It had four pics. Too sad. Apparently Pips likes to take her diaper off at times and if you lay her down in just her shirt or a dress with no bloomers, you might be cleaning up a mess. Poor Devin. He told me this: “I would have taken a pic of her but it was too sad. She had it in her hands and on the side of her mouth. Yes, mouth.” Live and learn right?

On a side note, this happened once with Aikman when he was little and Devin was the one home with him that day too. I have yet to clean up a poopy bed.

Pippa sans caca.

No! Our Sleep Sheep's Sh***y Foot :(

Devin then sent me this and said at least one of our kids is sleeping good. Precious Monks.

Happy 10 Months!

My Pips is 10 months old today! Only two more and then we hit the 1 year mark! Insane!! She really seems to love her solid foods. The other night for dinner, she ate some chicken, macaroni and cheese and green beans. She ate everything on her plate and Aikman’s leftovers. She really loves strawberries, bananas and cucumbers. I am hoping she will be like Aikman in that she loves to try everything and is not picky. So far, she has done so well. We have a watermelon in the fridge I am dying to cut up for us all. That will require baths for everyone! She is still just scooting but has mastered leaning forward from a sit and moving her leg out to get in the crawling position. She still just rocks back and forth at a crazy fast pace but has yet to move in a full crawl. Any day now! She loves to play peek a boo and with Aikman’s cars. She can drink out of her sippy cup by herself. Can is the keyword. She “can” but she prefers for you to hold it for her. J She loves bath time and eating the bubbles.  She also has this habit of taking her hair down after you fix it and she even tore up one of her bows the other day by ripping it apart. Thanks Pips. She laughs constantly and is always smiling. She loves attention and will turn in every direction in her highchair to see people when we are out. She even started waving! I love it! That chubby little hand is adorable! It has been 10 months and she makes me smile every time I look at her. I had some old pictures in a box by our bed the other night and looked through them. They were from when she was born and when we first brought her home. I cried and cried as I went through them. It is crazy how fast time has gone by. I love you Pippa Lou! Happy 10 Months Toots!

Weekend Update

Friday we just hung out at home. We didn’t do anything too exciting until……Pippa said Momma for the first real time! She would make the mmm sound and when we would tell her ma-ma, she would smile and go dada. When I would say no! and shake my head she would just laugh and laugh. It became a joke in our house for nearly a week. She was being a little toot on purpose! I finally had my moment! She said it and I said yes, say mama and she said it again and smiled. I am not sure who was happier, Aikman or me! He would always try to get her to say it with me. She says it often now and with a smile. She still likes to tease me with a dada every now and then but will follow with a smile and ma-ma. It is like she is saying just kidding mom! I know who you are. J I love it! She also scooted over to the ottoman and tried to pull herself up! She made it to her knees but could not get her chubby little foot out to stand on. She had it to the side and was just kind of rolling her ankle and using those precious arms to pull as hard as she could but nothing past the knee. Hey, it’s a great start! It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen in my life!

Eating a bean burrito and mandarin oranges

Saturday was a great day. I spent the morning taking the kids to the zoo! It was just the three of us and I had the best time alone with my kids! Aikman and I talked so much and made animal sounds and just had an overall great time and it was so cute to see Pips in her stroller taking all the sights and sounds. She is getting old enough to really enjoy the animals and I wish I could be in her mind as she tries to figure out what they are! The monkeys made her squeal and wiggle in her stroller and she laughed so hard at them. They were just swinging from tree to tree and walking right by the glass window. She was barely a foot from them and loved it! The zoo was packed though. Apparently it was military appreciation day and all military got in free and had free food served to them. There were pizzas, hot dogs, chips, drinks and desserts. They even had two bands out there for them!  I swear there were over a thousand people there. Luckily, they were mostly hanging out on the grassy areas and at the picnic areas eating. It was neat to see everything though. We still had a great time and to watch Aikman imitate the animals is hilarious. He copied the crocodile, the turtles, the lion, the tiger, the monkeys and the snakes.  You can walk through this bird habitat boardwalk thing and it is humid in there and smells like, well birds and ducks, and as soon as we entered it Aikman yelled, eww, they smell like poop momma! I said they do! Lol. Aikman, unlike his dad, seems to really like the snakes and so we watched them for a long time. We also saw some super gross ginormous spiders and Monks said eww, look Momma, they dirty! I wish I had a picture of his face when I showed him the centipede. I was describing it to him and he was like oh yeah, that’s gross and then I said all those orange things are his legs! And when it all set in and he realized how nasty looking this guy was, he said in a quiet yet very serious voice “I not like him momma. At all.” I laughed and said me neither! I did have to stop and text Big Tio and Tia Net because we saw a raccoon and I told Aikman what it was and he said “Big Tio caught raccoon and a lady at Big Tio’s caught him. Remember Momma?” He remembered Big Tio was the Critter Getter and that he caught a raccoon in a trap one time when we were visiting and a lady from Animal Control came to get him out of the cage. We were at the zoo nearly two hours! We ended our super fun trip with a stop in the gift shop. As soon as we walked in, Aikman ran to this one shelf in the middle of the store. I am not sure how he even saw it. He grabbed this zebra striped truck and it had a trailer and was towing a little ATV. He said I want this momma. I explained to him that we should look in the whole store before we just settle and he told me okay, but I pretty sure I want this one. Lol. We found Pips a small soft hot pink flamingo and I showed Aikman so many things and he would say that nice but I want this truck. He was 100% sure he wanted the truck so that is what he got. He even thanked me as we paid for the stuff for his toy. We then left the zoo and stopped at McDonald’s to grab some lunch. We got home and ate and then the kids went down for a nap!

He was imitating these weird birds

Saying "cheese"

Watching turtles and the big fish!
Sunday was spent painting Aikman’s room. I will post pics once everything is hung on his walls. His room is so big boy now and is too too cute! He loves it!

My Perfect Boy

My monkey is known for being funny and saying the sweetest things. He amazes me every day with his words, actions and emotions. He understands so much and is curious about everything. He has the best little memory I have ever seen. The way he talks to Pippa just melts my heart. He truly adores her and even when she is grabbing something she shouldn’t be he will say “no ma’am!” and push her hand away. Lol. I love it!

I honestly can’t remember if I posted this story or not and I am honestly too lazy to look back so just enjoy it again if so. We were sitting with Aikman talking one night and said what is daddy and he responded with a boy! Devin then asked him what is mommy and he paused and thought and then yelled tough. Lol.

One night I was putting him to bed and I stopped to turn off the TV and he said well come on lady. I said did you just call me lady and he said oh sorry momma, yes. I said I am not mad, just wondering if I heard you right. He said yep and got in bed.

I asked him to say good night to Pippa one night and he said wait, she has to kiss my nose! He ran from where he was playing with his cars and I leaned down with her and she opened her mouth and kissed him right on the nose! He then said good night Pippa Lou and ran back to play.

He is so sweet when she wakes up and we go in to get her up. He says hi sweet girl, you sleep good? He will call her sweet girl, baby girl, Pips or Pippa Lou. It is the cutest thing.

When Devin is getting ready for work and about to leave he tells Aikman a number and that is how many bottles of water he wants to take with him. Aikman will run to the pantry and get a plastic bag and then get however many bottles he asked for out of the case. He counts them all and I hold the bag. The last few times he said he wanted to put a surprise in the bag for Daddy. I said okay what do you want to put and he went to the pantry to his snack tub and pulled out a mini box of raisins. He said these are for Daddy. He then gave Devin the bag and said I put a surprise in there for you! He was so excited to have Devin find them and the next morning, the first thing he said to me was did Daddy get my prize? Devin got home about 10 minutes after that and thanked him for the surprise and Aikman’s face just lit up! He was so pleased Devin was happy about it. He always puts something in his bag now for him and is so excited to hear about it the next morning. Precious baby.

He always says I love you and will just be sitting on the couch by me and say I love you momma. I say I love you more monkey and he says I love Pippa and Adrian too. I tell him they love him more and he just smiles and then continues to watch TV.

If he likes food a lot, he will say taste this! It’s pretty good a little bit! Lol. Pretty good a little bit.

I sure do love my baby boy. He is such a great little guy.

Sweet Hair

Tia did Pippa's hair in pigtails on Friday. She sent them to me in a text and I told her she did a really good job and that they looked super cute. She said the pic must not show how crooked and uneven they are. I laughed and said they looked fine and she was learning. Pippa moves so much when you try and fix her hair! We are all learning how to fix little girl's hair. I don't even know how to braid! How sad is that?

Play Time

Tia took the kids to this indoor playground the other day. Aikman just loves it and always has so much fun there. Pips is almost old enough to get out and play!

Weekend Update

Friday we went to dinner with Tio, Tia and Adrian at Lytle Land and Cattle. It was crazy packed as all the Western Heritage stuff was going on, but we only had to wait 30 minutes. Adrian and Pips sat at the end in highchairs and loved playing with the paper on the table. They have that brown butcher paper for you to color on and all you heard was wrinkling paper from their end. They eventually just ripped it off. The food was really good and we always have fun together so it was a great night.

Do you love Pippa's shoes? I am so excited about them! She takes off every pair but these she couldn't! I think it is because there is a strap in the back and it is snug. Bwah ha ha ha ha (hear my evil laugh?) No taking these off precious Pips!

Saturday was a fun day! Tio and Devin worked the night shift so spent much of Saturday sleeping so Tia and Adrian came over around 10 and we spent the day shopping and eating! We went to a few stores downtown. Gigi and I used to always shop downtown and I could have sworn Jenny had been with us, but she said she never had! What a tragedy! We found Pips two ADORABLE outfits and Monks found a toy car. Lol. I also got some earrings and Tia bought Pips her first set of pearls! Omg, they are the sweetest thing I have ever seen! Gigi loved pearls and then when we met Jenny, we found out she loved them too (I hate them lol) and so who better to give her her first set? I could have cried seeing her in them! She was a doll! We then went to eat lunch at Jason’s Deli. I let Pippa try their broccoli cheese soup and she loved it!!  She also ate some fruit and her baby food. We then went to a few more stores in the newer shopping mall and then called it a day around 2. Everyone was ready for naps.

Cute story! I used Jenny’s double stroller for Monks and Pippa and she had Adrian asleep in his stroller. In one of the stores, the sales clerks were smiling at Pippa and then Aikman was showing them his cars and being so sweet. They then began hiding behind racks and playing peek a boo with the kids and I wish I would have recorded it. There were about four girls going behind racks and popping out and I wish you could have heard the kids laughing! It was so so cute and they loved it!  They did this forever! Pippa and Aikman were hysterical and would look around and then one would come and say boo or make a noise and the kids would just laugh and laugh. Pippa was even squealing she was having so much fun. The kids and the sales girls were sad when we had to leave.

Sunday was a nice day too. I told Devin I didn’t want to celebrate or do anything. We did take our flowers out to Gigi and I missed her so much this time. I miss her everyday but this time was bad. I can’t tell you how upsetting it is to have everything and everyone around you saying honor your mom, celebrate her, do something for her blah blah blah and we can’t. Anyway, we still had a nice day. We had breakfast at a new place on S. 1st and it was really good! It was Mexican food and Monks got a plate with eggs, super crispy bacon (I thought of Big Tio), potatoes and beans. Pips loved his potatoes. She also ate some of his eggs too. Devin and I got burritos and they were perfect. Their hot sauce was hot too! Okay, to me it was. Devin and Monks ate it. We then went to look at some treadmills! I finally convinced Devin to let us get one. I got new tennis shoes (my old ones were a 6.5 and since I had Pips, I have to buy 8.5 to 9. Wow, right?) and some small weights. We did some shopping and found some good sales at Old Navy. I also got some nail polish and éclairs and chocolate covered strawberries. We came home and took naps and then Devin and Monks went to the store to get some chips and dips and stuff to make bacon wrapped jalapenos. We ordered burgers from Steak Express. It doesn’t get much better than that! Devin bathed the kids and put them to bed and I just laid on the couch. My husband and babies always make me feel special so I know I am loved and appreciated all year long.

I was talking to her to get her to look at Devin and that is when he took the pic so that is why my mouth is wide open.

We saw these at Old Navy and had to put them on her. They were huge but we couldn't resist. They look more like Forrest Gump braces than boots but oh well. I am so going to get her some red boots just like I had. Every little girl needs a pair.

Precious Cousins

Tio took these pics last week. How sweet are Adrian and Pips? They are only four months apart so it will be crazy cute to see them grow together. It is cute to see them smile and laugh at each other. Enjoy these adorable babies!

He Likes It!

I wore this sparkly tank the other day with sequins to work and was putting my little black sweater over it when this conversation happened:

Monks: I like your shirt momma!
Me: Thanks monkey, I like it too!
Monks: Yeah, it's pretty good.
Me: Sure is!
Monks: It's a pretty good color too!

Lol. It is grey with silver sequins. My baby is too sweet.

Kerrville Celebration Part 4

We all returned to their house from the hotel after about an hour and a half. We wanted to change from our bathing suits and look decent. Big Tio grilled some amazing steaks and we had a pasta salad, a green salad and a bean/corn salad. It was all soooo good. We I ate so much. We then went outside for the piñata! My Monks had a great time hitting it and was so sweet doing it. I can’t wait to see him at Pippa’s birthday! Aikman hit a few times and then we let Gramita do it. She stood up and took her glasses off and walked to the yard. Whoa Gramita! Removing the glasses meant this was going to be good! She hit it several times. How many 90 year olds do you know who can do that? J Eventually it was busted and the kids, okay Aikman and all us adults went to get candy. We then sang Happy Birthday and she blew out her candles. It was so sweet.

It was getting late and we needed to take the kids home to get them to bed. She opened her presents while we gathered the kids stuff and we headed to the hotel. I am pretty sure everyone was ready for bed that night.

I have to admit it was very emotional for me this time in Kerrville. I am not sure if it was because of everyone being there and celebrating or what but it was extremely tough this time. Makes me worry about Pippa's birthday even more now. Anyway, it was so much fun and we look forward to 91 with Gramita! Thanks to everyone for going. I know Monks had a blast!

Look how sweet she is! She was not crying even though it looks a little like that, I think that was just from being in the pool earlier.

All of us at dinner! Sorry Phil, my big head is blocking you some. Hey Pips, the camera is this way babe!

Look at this batter! I would call him someone in the MLB, but the only people I know are Jose Canseco and Daryl Strawberry and both are probably like dead now. Not a baseball fan sorry.

Candy!

Precious!

Gramita is still funny! A girl I work with said aww, she is so cute in her green wig. Um, it's part of the pinata Jen. Lol.

Yum! With my sweet flowers in the back my Monkey picked me coming back from the park. Aww!

This pic is too sweet. You deserve it Gramita!
