Weekend Update

Saturday after picking up the kids, we went home to get ready to go do some shopping. We had thought about swimming that day but decided to wait. We met Tia and Adrian at Academy where Devin got some shirts and we got two more of those awesome bubble guns. We then had lunch all together at Burger King and then it was off to Kmart so Devin could look for some mesh shorts. I so hate that store but luckily he found some. We then took the kids home for naps and then met up with Tio and Tia and Adrian after that. We went to Children’s Place for some jeans for Monks. He must have had a growth spurt or something because his jeans he got for Christmas are already too short. The 5T will feet in the waist, just not length. My baby boy is no longer in toddler pants and wears a size 4 in little boys. They are a tiny bit loose in the waist but since they make most pants adjustable, they work great! The length is perfect on him too. My tall skinny boy. Wonder where he got that from! Ha ha. We looked at jeans at Kmart but they looked cheap and were $17! At Children’s place they were so cute and stylish and on sale for $10 and I had a coupon on my phone. I bought him some jeans, Pippa a shirt and him a shirt for $18. Nice! We then went to eat dinner at Cici’s and then it was home to our house to hang out. The kids ran around playing while the adults played with Pippa’s new pink ball. We played volleyball with it and couldn’t let it touch the floor. Monks helped us while the babies played with the toy kitchen and food. We ended up knocking down a frame from a shelf, the chain from our fan and I fell off the ottoman in an attempt to hit the ball. Are we 6?! It was so much fun though and the kids couldn’t stop laughing. It was getting late and bedtimes were approaching so they left.

Pips got a crown in her kid's meal! Nice!
My dad used to do this to Pete and Phil all the time. Now Tio does it to Monks. Sweet.
All the babes at Kmart. I told Monks to smile and got a constipated looking face lol  The kids were so cute in the basket. They were getting restless and we were waiting on Devin before we went to the toys and so we were right by the furniture. Monks sat at each table in a chair and would pretend he was eating and then would pretend fall asleep. When he fell asleep, I told the babies we had to wake him by clapping. They both would clap and clap as fast as they could until he "woke up" They loved and it and were laughing those deep belly laughs. Thanks Monks for playing along.
Sunday we went grocery shopping and then to Target to look around. We ate lunch and then decided to go swimming. The kids had lots of fun as usual and Aikman is getting to be quite the swimmer. He is so cute when he holds his breath to go under. Adorable! The kids were exhausted afterwards and went right to sleep when we got home. After nearly 4 hour naps, we ate dinner and did baths to get ready for the week! Another exciting and fun weekend for the Anderson’s!

Monks after dessert!
Pips fell asleep after eating a mini banana split blizzard.
We woke her to swim though! Lol. Here she was putting stuff in her locker.
Eating dinner. Look at that wild hair. She had lasagna and fruit.
Monks watching Clash of the Titans with daddy.
This was how Pippa napped. Crazy thing.

Monkey Stories

I am so behind on this story! I have to brag on my little guy for standing up for his sister a few weeks back! Mrs. Morgan took them to Chick-fil-A to have lunch and play. While Pippa was playing by one of the slides, some older kid pushed her. Aikman didn’t like seeing that at all and told that kid not to push his sister. The kid ended up pushing her again and Aikman got in his face and told him “I HATE you!!” The little boy began to cry. I laughed inside when Devin told me that. Mrs. Morgan said she told Aikman that if someone is being ugly to come and tell her and she will take care of it. I agree with her- - -for their age now. We also explained to Aikman that we shouldn’t say ugly things to people but that we were very proud of him for standing up for Pippa and not letting anyone be mean to her. Devin and I had talked before and agree that yes, we will be those parents that teach our kids that if someone hits them, they can hit them back.  It is a little hard at this age to explain to Monks when is an okay time to do that so for now we work it out with talking. I can’t tell you how proud I was of him and how my heart was dancing on the inside as we calmly told him how to handle it next time. Sweet boy. Don’t mess with his sister! I will be sure and tell my Pips this story when she is older.

Mrs. Morgan got sick today so I came in an hour late once Devin got home. I had the honor of taking my precious boy to school today. We went and put his stuff in his cubby and I began reading a sign on the wall. They had all the kid’s names listed with things they love. The kids had things like “my mom, family, toys, etc” and I see next to Aikman’s name, it says “Crocodiles and the Hulk” Lol. Well, who doesn’t love both of those things but it made me laugh standing there.

Valentine's Day Celebration

Friday night we celebrated Valentine’s Day. Tio and Tia kept the kids overnight for us. We dropped them off and then went to try a new restaurant. New to us, not Abilene. It is called Cattle Baron’s and Mike and Jenny had tried it their last date night and really enjoyed it so we decided to go. We both ordered steaks although their burgers look awesome. They had great beans and Devin had their grilled corn and I got a salad. He had a beer and I had a glass of wine. Look at me trying to be all fancy. Lol. We had lots of fun there and then it was home to freshen up and then off to Cabo’s. Yes, it was our Valentine’s celebration, but it also was an adult night for us, so we decided to play some pool and hang out with friends for a little while. Devin knew of two of his coworkers that were going up there and I told a girl from work and her boyfriend to go for a little while. We played some pool and I actually won a game against Devin! They made fun of my “skills” ha ha but if you make the ball in, that’s all that matters right? Right. We enjoyed ourselves and as we were heading out, Pete and Phil showed up with their friends and so we talked to them some and then we were off! We went home and hung out and then decided a little while later we were hungry so we both left together at 12:30 to get something to eat. Can’t normally do that with babies sleeping in the other room! I had Whataburger and he had Bueno lol We went home and ate and were asleep by 2. We had a great night and debated going to play Putt Putt but it was so cool out and we hated to waste the time in a theatre watching a movie. I had so much fun with him and it was nice to get out, adults only and have no curfew. Ha ha. We both did miss the kids though and were still up at 7:30 the next morning. Funny how some things never change. We laid in bed talking for a little while and then decided to go pick up the kids. We stopped by to get doughnuts and kolaches and then headed to see our babes. Thanks again Tio and Tia for a much needed night out just the two of us. I sure do enjoy my time with my hubby and all the laughs! Here’s to many more Valentine’s Days together.

Burritos & Bubbles

When I got off one day last week we went to Academy. Devin wanted some gloves and we were just looking at stuff. We found some bubble guns that were marked down to $1.88 a piece and bought one. (We later went back for two more) We then went to dinner at Rosa’s and then home to play. The kids loved the bubble gun so much. It makes so many bubbles! I couldn’t believe it! So much easier than blowing them all lol

Pippa ate three cups of rice!

Kerrville Day 4

We hated to leave but we sure enjoyed our visit! After some yummy breakfast burritos, we packed up and Devin and I got ready while Tia Net played out back with the kids. We left about 10:30 and stopped once in Brady for some lunch and then kept going. Pippa was exhausted but would not sleep. The last hour kicked her butt. She whined and would get mad if I looked back at her. I finally just threw her blanket over her head and she tried cuddling with it but still wouldn’t sleep. Crazy thing. Monks was as happy as could be just playing and enjoying the view. We got home about 2 and I put the kids right down for their naps. They both went to sleep right away and slept until 6:40! Devin and I napped in there too. We woke up and ate something and then it was time for baths and bed. Lol. We thank you Big Tio, Tia Net and Gramita for a wonderful visit! You guys are always so much fun and I love seeing you with my babies. They sure adore you all!

Needed some pics before we left.

A silly one

Pippa did fall asleep about 20 minutes out, but woke up when we pulled over so Monks could pee.
Fighting it still...
Monks finally opened all his Valentine's from school before nap!

Kerrville Day 3

Sunday we headed to Fredericksburg for some shopping! The place where we parked had a playground right in front of it so we let the kids play for about 10 minutes before we shopped. They had so much fun. It was a really neat place. There was also a lot of fountains and benched areas perfect for picture taking! We then went shopping and went in several stores. We went about 4 blocks on each side of the street. I loved the Christmas store the most and found some ornaments I loved but at $18 a piece, I just couldn’t do it. Aikman loved this toy store the most naturally and Pips enjoyed the bakery with fresh cookies. I also got two cookie cutters. One bunny one and one flag one. I can’t wait to make sandwiches and wraps with them! After shopping for a while, we went to have lunch at West End Pizza. It was really good. I had a spinach calzone and it was awesome! I could eat those for every meal. We then headed back to Kerrville and went to this big park by the river. It had a big dam/waterfall and was so pretty. The kids loved it all! They were worn out and slept for about 3 hours. When they woke up, we were waiting on Tia Net and Gramita to get out of church, so we took the kids to the park by their pool. It was then off to dinner at Mamacita’s! It is Devin’s favorite place in all of the world! He was in heaven. Aikman loved their salsa and Pippa couldn’t get enough of their green sauce. I had a great sangria swirl and Devin had a margarita. They also make the best tortillas and bring them to you all warm and soft. I am always tempted to rub them on my face. Is that weird? Or just fat? Lol. Either way, I want to. The kids were so good while we ate. Devin said it was because they ate nonstop ha ha. The atmosphere is so nice there too and the kids love the stars on the ceiling. Little lights twinkle all over the domed ceiling. It really is beautiful.
