Sweet Boy

I sometimes don't share these stories as they are so personal but this blog is for Monks and I don't want to forget them. This morning he was riding his rocking horse and he said I love this horse! I said good, do you know who bought it for you? He quickly replied "My Gigi." I teared up and said yep, she did buy you that. He then stopped rocking and asked me with such a serious face "where did Gigi go?" I of course looked like an idiot I am sure to him and finally got out "where did she go?" He then paused and looked at me and then up like he was in deep thought and said "in heaven with Grandpa?" I said yep, that's where she is and he asked me why and I mouthed I don't know and shrugged my shoulders.

My Monkey's Dream

I have been asking Aikman lately if he slept like a big dog or a little pup and he responds with one and we laugh and then get dressed. Today when I asked him he said um, a titty! (his way of saying kitty) and then he meowed at me. Um, okay. I then took him in the living room to get him dressed. I always ask him if he had any dreams and I doubt he knows what dreams are but sometimes he will tell me something and sometimes he just says no. Today this was his dream:

Me: Did you have any dreams last night monks?
Monks: Mm hmm.
Me: You did, what was it about?
Monks: Spiders momma!
Me: Spiders? Goodness, what were they doing?
Monks: They were in my hair!
Me: They were? Were they just crawling?
Monks: Mm hmm.
Me: What did they look like?
Monks: Green.
Me: They were green? Oh creepy!
Monks: Mm hmm.
Me: What did you tell them?
Monks: I say spiders, I sleeping!!
Me: Good! Did they leave you alone?
Monks: Yes. Spider gone.
Me: That’s silly!
Monks: Me too.

Lol. I have no clue where he gets this stuff from. At least he knew to tell them he was sleeping! Crazy boy.

KIds Say The Darndest Things

I used to love that show so much. I would laugh forever thinking surely these sweet kids had to be coached before hand to give the answers they gave. Then I had kids and realized that even though he is only two, he says the funniest things sometimes. Here are just a few:

There was a mosquito on the wall the other night in our kitchen as we ate dinner. I said eww, what is that and Devin killed it. It fell on the table and Devin cleaned it up and Aikman asked was that a fly on the wall? I said it was a mosquito and Monks looked at it and said oh. He’s huge!

The other night Aikman was standing in front of Tia and we told him to be easy with her since she was still sore from the c-section (which means laughing hurts like a mother) and he just randomly said, while pointing at each, Tia, this is my butt and this my penis. She immediately started to laugh and grab her stomach and we all tried to not laugh too so she would not laugh harder. Totally random!

The other morning he woke up and we brought him in our room because we weren’t ready to get up yet. He then said my leg hurts. We asked which one and he said this one. Kiss it. Devin kissed his hurt leg. He then told me my other leg hurts, kiss it momma. I then kissed his other leg. He then laid back and patted us both and said thank you guys.

I went home for lunch today and we had Taco Bueno. I got Monks a bean burrito. He sat on the couch and asked for his bee-toe. I gave it to him and he ate it like a big boy, just holding it. After his first bite he said this is delicious momma! I said I am glad you like it and he said it’s so yummy. Best ever. Best in the whole world! Was he just starving? Lol. How sweet is that? Thanks Bueno cooks for making the best bean burrito ever for my son.

Update On My Pips

I cannot believe in 6 days my Pips will be 4 months old! It has flown by. She has been so much fun. I always dreaded having a girl but man oh man I can’t wait for all the fun times ahead we will have! Devin said he is already worried about how she will wrap him around her finger. She fits right in the family. J She sits up very well in her Bumbo and is really starting to get a tight hold on her toys that hang above her play mat. She has been sleeping through the night for a while which makes my morning routine so easy! I always have to wake her up to leave. She is growing so fast and finally has one pair of shoes that fit! Yes she has the tiniest feet and her newborn ones from Kids Village fit but they are giraffe print with pink satin trim. Yeah, they don’t go with too much! She has some little pink shoes that almost fit so hopefully by next month they will be perfect. She pretty much outgrew her 0-3 months and wears the 3-6 months. Some brands run small so she won’t last in those long. I am excited to see how much she weighs come her 4 month check up. She smiles all the time and loves to play with Aikman. She stares at him in the bath and then he turns and looks at her and she just laughs and laughs. She has a super sweet laugh. I have introduced cereal three times now, the first time she was too hungry so she just screamed since I couldn’t feed her fast enough. The second time went okay and then yesterday she did pretty well. She tilts her head back to get it all off the spoon since it’s so runny and smacks and smacks to get it all down. Too funny. I may hold off until mid December to give it on a regular basis but come that time, she may just be ready for some baby foods; we will talk to her doctor. She gets excited when she hears my voice when I walk in from work. We are still working on naps, she likes to sleep on you and will for hours at a time but that’s not possible lol. She falls asleep and we lay her down in her bed and she will sleep for about 10 minutes and then start to cry. I don’t know why. I thought maybe her room was too bright, but we have black curtains in it and they are the blackout type. She sleeps great at night in it so who knows! We will just get her in a routine of it and go from there. She is a billion times better in her car seat than she used to be. She used to scream the minute you buckled her in but now she is fine. She only cries in it when tired and once she gets her bottle she is out. Yay for that! She is just too perfect! I adore her and still can’t believe she is here sometimes. My baby girl.

Pumpkin Cupcakes

Sunday after lunch and during the Cowboys game, we decided to try out this new recipe I had. Okay, so not much of a recipe as it is just a cake mix and canned pumpkin, but still. Monks was a pro at putting all the little liners in the pan for me. He is such a good helper. They came out very good too!!

I had walked off to turn the TV up and when I came back I found this:

How cute! He tried to spoon it in himself! He is not happy with a dirty hand in the last pic.

Randomness.....

We found this sack at Tio and Tia's and Monks loved being carried around in it by Phil.

My Baby!

Monks always gets in between the screen door and the front door when he gets home with Devin and Devin squishes him and they laugh. He did it to me the other day and so I took this. Crazy boy.

Preciousness sound asleep. How perfect is he?

My Babies!

Random sweet pics of them. Enjoy!

Mommy is soooo funny!

Goofy smile!

Adrian Is Here!!

Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 8:01 p.m. my precious nephew was born! Adrian Maxwell Silva weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz and was 20.5 inches long! He couldn’t be any more perfect and I thank Tio and Tia for my precious nephew! I adore him and am in love. This is my first time to be an aunt! I was so emotional leading up to his birth. I cried so much this last week! I just can’t believe he is here! When I held him, my heart burst with love and excitement! I just wanted to hold him forever! I still do! We have made several little trips here and there to see him since Saturday night. Monks is already asking where Aid-knee-in when we leave the hospital. I have one story and then a thousand pics to post. When Monks, Pippa and I left the hospital yesterday, Aikman waved to the hospital and said bye Aidnian! Here was our conversation:

Monks: Bye Adnian!
Me: You’re sweet.
Monks: I wike him momma, Adnian is silly.
Me: He is. Do you love him?
Monks: Mm hmm.
Me: Me too.

He then started to tell me a story. Sometimes when he tells you something long, only a few words in there are real and the others are just kind of mumbling. It really sounds like French sometimes! Basically what he said was that Adrian talked to him. I said well what did he tell you? and he said Adnian talk silly, say me. I then asked I know, but what did he say to you and he said he say “eh eh.” I laughed so hard and wish I could spell it for you or record that conversation but basically what happened was when Tio changed his diaper, Adrian whined some and the cry/whiny noise he made sounded just like what Monks did! I thought that was too funny that he remembered it exactly and that was his way of “talking to him.” Sweet boy. Going to be such a great cousin! Enjoy these oh so precious pics!

That's him!

Handsome! Perfect!

I put that on him, thank you very much!

Cousins!

His foot is really longer than my Pips! and she is almost 4 months! Lol!

Veteran's Day Parade

Saturday morning we headed downtown with Big Tio and Tia Nett to the parade. It was windy at first but then warmed up and was perfect. Monks had fun and liked seeing all the cars. They had lots of motorcylces, old and new fire engines, police cars and military vehicles.

Yes there was a Santa.

I love this pic! I want an 8 X 10 of it!

Veteran's Day

Friday morning Pete and Phil met us at 9:00 to head out to the cemeteries. We were wanting to put fresh flowers and plus with it being Veteran’s Day, we were very excited to see how it looked all decorated with the flags. We stopped by HEB to get flowers and I was wanting yellow roses but they only sold them in dozens for $20. All I wanted was 3 per site to represent Monks, Pippa and Adrian (even thought he didn’t make his appearance until the next day J) We ended up just buying these pretty flowers. They reminded me of fall and I knew my mom would like them. We headed to Grandpa’s first and Monks loved all the flags. When we left he yelled “bye grandpa, bye flags, bye flowers!” Lol. We then headed to Gigi’s and put three flowers there. I like it when we all go together.

Entrance

I found out those letters under the dates stand for awards!

I LOVE this pic! All the branches of military had their flag flying.
