Random Pics

The morning they went back home, I ate breakfast with Manny. We dined on some delicious lucky charms. Lol. I adore this guy.

This was Pippa playing outside one afternoon. It was about 76° outside and she had to wear this pink toboggan. So crazy.

My monkey practicing catch with daddy.

Devon worked last Friday evening from six to midnight as security at a big concert they had in town. This was Pippa kissing him goodbye before he started getting dressed. Lol.

My monkey practicing his handwriting. He loves to work on it, and it makes me so happy. He is getting pretty good! Kindergarten, here we come!

Monkey's First Game

Last Saturday was my monkey's first baseball game. He is on a new league this year, and we are so excited. We got to the game, and it was a lot colder than we thought it would be. I felt so bad for him, because we didn't put an undershirt on him. I may have mentioned before that this league is coach pitch for his age group. I was a little nervous for him, and crossed my fingers that he wouldn't need to bat off the tee. But of course, my baby proved me wrong. Both times up to bat, he hit from the coaches pitch and hit pretty far. I was so proud of him! He also had a pretty good cheering section. Of course Tio and Tia and Adrian were in town, and Pete and Phil went to the game as well. Lucas and Nicole stayed behind because it was too cold for Lucas. We all had to laugh when Aikman would run home, because he would just stand there on the base smiling and it was like he was posing for us and you could tell he was so proud of himself. We got some great pictures of him and I was so proud of the way he hustled after the ball each time, even if it wasn't near him. He had such a great first game and was so glad everyone was there to see him. The pictures we got were amazing. I can't wait for the rest of the season and to watch my baby boy in action. Nothing is greater than seeing your children exceed at something. Especially something they love so much.

Fun Day Friday

Friday we all woke up and got ready for the day! Devin had a check up for his eye at 9:45 so the kids stayed home with Tio and Tia until we were done. After a great check up, we all headed to Frontier Texas! It's a museum that has been here a few years and I had never been! Well, we went once to a haunted house there, but it was just a quick walk through, and it was dark and I was being scared, so I didn't see much. Anyway, we started the tour with a short movie to introduce some people we would meet along the way and give us a little history. Can I just say it doesn't get any better than living in Texas? By far the best state. Hands down. Anyway, you walk through and see statues and read all about historic moments. You can even push buttons and these holograms pop up of important people and they share their stories. It's so neat! The kids loved it! At the very end is a theatre you go in with more stories and you get to experience some of what they went through. We sat through an attack from wild animals and Indians, a thunderstorm and a stampede of buffaloes. After that, we had a great lunch at Cici's and then it was time to take naps! Jenny and I went to the store then to make Tio's birthday dinner! He wanted queso and taquitos and these ham and cheese sliders from Pinterest. Tia made him the most awesome tres leches cake with toasted coconut. To die for! He got a tie, a game, some beard balm, a hand strengthener thingy, shorts and a gift card to the movie theatre! We had a great day and even better evening with everyone together and celebrating. Another wonderful year!

First Practice

Aikman had his first practice of the season last Thursday. We are playing in a new league this year so we are very excited! The practice went so well! He seemed a little shy at first but warmed up. His coaches are so nice and know so much about the game. He has his main coach and then two assistant coaches and they are all related and their children play on the team together. Love it! Nothing like family oriented people! We met all the other parents and just sat back and enjoyed the view. No coaching this season for us which we are going to miss, but also totally enjoy! We ordered us some shirts and got signed up for their first fundraiser so expect me to hit some of you up for it! Lol. He did very well with throwing but was scared to catch it. Devin and him were playing catch about two weeks ago and he hit him in the face so I understood his hesitation. Poor dude. Not only were we excited about practice but Tio, Tia and Adrian came in town! They met us at the practice field and got to watch him some. We then all went to dinner at Cattle Baron's. The kids stayed up until about 9:15 playing but since we were keeping them home on Friday from school, we figured it wasn't a huge deal. They had to get to enjoy their cousin!

He is in the turquoise shirt out on the practice field.

St. Patrick's Day

We try to be festive and do fun things with the kids for every holiday, no matter what. Aikman asked me what was this month and when I told him St Patricks day, he looked at me like what's that? I explained it again to him and he said, "oh. That's weird!" Lol. Weird or not, we could make it fun! We worked on random  coloring pages and even made Leprechauns. The highlight of the holiday had to be our leprechaun trap! When I first mentioned this to the kids, Aikman was very confused. Remember my boy is very sweet and looks out for others. He asked me 1,321 questions about how it would work. Pips was ready to go, she wanted that leprechaun! Monks on the other hand was a little leery about it. He was concerned the trap might hurt him or what if he fell or what if he was scared or couldn't breathe. When I finally assured him it was all okay and we weren't the Manson family, he was on board. Cute, right? The kids worked on decorating the box and setting it up. I put some coins in the box to lure him in. In the morning, we had a real surprise! He had taken the coins, but escaped our trap! Sneaky little guy! All we had was a trail of green glitter he left behind leading from the table to the back door! I didn't get pics of them in their green, but they looked sweet! Aikman had picked out a new Hulk shirt to wear and Pips wore her duck shirt that says lucky and has clovers on it with her emerald green hair bow. So cute! Nothing beats Lucky Charms and green milk!

We each colored a man and Aikman even cut his own out, all by himself! I was so proud!

Our trap! The lid was propped up with a stick so that when he crawled in and hit the stick, the lid would close.

Weekend Update

We had a wonderful weekend! Big Tio and Tia were here! We started the weekend with a delicious dinner at Lytle! Saturday we checked out the flea market in Buffalo Gap for the first time ever. It was decent. I did find Pips the sweetest dress and got her some new tennis shoes since she lost her old ones. Yes, lost. Sigh. Luckily they were only $25 for some sweet brand new Nikes! The kids rode a train and looked at several chickens and roosters too. I kept laughing because roosters really do say cock a doodle doo. It was so real! We headed home as it started to sprinkle. While everyone napped after lunch, Monks, Tia and I rode bikes! Aikman loved showing off for her and he was thrilled when she rode my bike with him. So hard to believe she had open heart surgery a couple of months ago. You're a soldier Big Tia! We put the bikes up as it started to thunder. My poor boy. The fear in his eyes made me want to comfort him but I had to laugh. He was so scared and jumped off his bike and yelled, "put the bikes up momma, hurry, hurry!" We sat on the front patio as it started to drizzle and within minutes it began to pour and hail came down like crazy! We ran inside and watched from the kitchen window. We played games like Trouble, Memory and Loteria aka Mexican Bingo. It was then time for a taco feast! They left Sunday after a great breakfast (thank you Devin, Pete and Nicole) and we all took naps! Aikman and Pips were sad to see them go but had so much fun with them. We also put Instagram on their phones while they were here! Woo hoo! Now we can share it all with them! Thanks again guys, we had a blast!

Updates On The Miss Pippa Lou

Where oh where to begin with my Pips! I told Devin today at lunch that she is more perfect than I imagined she would be. Is that even real? More perfect? Oh well, she is great even if my grammar isn't. Not only is she the cutest thing ever, she has the personality and attitude to match.   She is hilarious and always wants to do my hair or makeup. She got some lip glosses for Valentines day and puts a little on when we go out. She loves to wear jewelry and have her toe nails painted. She still loves her sleep and will tell you she wants to go to bed. She refers to herself and just about every female as a princess. She is quite the eater but loves to get dessert! Ice cream and candy are her two favorites. I made roasted cauliflower one evening with dinner and hadn't put the leftovers away yet and she was climbing by the stove to eat off the pan. She ate all that was left. At least my kids like veggies right? She loves to wear her fake little plastic heels around the house. She is officially potty trained! My baby girl learned so fast and was pooping in the potty in less than 48 hours. She loves her hello kitty and princess undies and always used to say "I not gon pee on my kitties or pincesses, okay?" She counts very well on her own to 12 and knows the colors pink, purple and blue. She is OBSESSED with Scooby Doo aka Dooey Doo. Every day she asks to watch it. It can be the old ones, newer ones, cartoon or real people. She loves it. We bought her a stuffed Scooby for Christmas and she saw one at Target the other day and had to hold it. It was the exact same. She said she wanted it and I told her no, she had the same one at home. She hugged him and said "I want two!" Of course I said no but she tried. She also has the Mystery Machine and all the plastic characters. She knows them all by name and says "Dooey, Shaggy, Elma, Dah-nee, and Daddy!" She calls Fred Daddy. I don't know if it's the blonde hair or the fact that Devin wears an ascot often. I'm kidding, lol, but she does call him that! She also loves Minnie Mouse and I have finally convinced her we will do her 3rd birthday in it. It was between Minnie, Scooby or the Grinch. Those were the choices she gave me. I know, my kids are crazy but they do have good taste lol who doesn't love the Grinch? She is loving school and is doing really well. She sings songs all the time from school and really likes her teachers. She adores Apollo and will constantly sit on him or kiss him. She is on this big kick of walking up to you with a fist and saying "you want a sah-wich?" And she is trying to ask if you want a knuckle sandwich. We can thank Daddy for that lol she continues to make us laugh and I am really having a lot of fun seeing how girly she can be. Come on Barbie years! Lol Much more soon on my Princess Pips!

Updates On My Monks

Aikman is growing so fast. He got on the scale the other day and weighed 49 pounds! He is up 9 pounds since his four year check up! That boy is still all bony though. Lol. He loves to eat though and could live off salmon, popcorn, broccoli and pickles. He can't get enough of spicy and sour things. He gets upset if he orders a hamburger and it doesn't have onions. Such a strange boy. He is outgrowing shoes and shirts like crazy! My baby boy is doing so so well in school and amazes us with facts he knows or how high he can count by 10's. His handwriting is getting awesome and he loves to write down random words he sees. He is working on his first real school project, but that will be it's own post. He is so in love with Avengers and anything superhero. He always says he wants to be a policeman like daddy. He is constantly telling us how much he loves us and always wants a kiss goodnight! That child loves to do arts and crafts and we are working on some fun St Patricks Day things right now, including a leprechaun trap! He so enjoys his cousins and could spend every day with them. He was invited to his first real birthday party for a friend a few weeks ago and picked out the coolest Barbie car himself. He is so caring and so generous and I just adore the little guy he is becoming. He talks about Gigi and G-Bo often and tells us how he wishes they were here with us. He still lives to visit Kerrville and is talking about going next Spring Break by himself for a few days! We haven't even mentioned it to Big Tio and Tia yet though so we will see! He mastered riding his bike! He could only do the tricycle but now he has a new one and we go on family rides together and he keeps up. He is about to start baseball again and plays for the...wait for it...GEORGIA TECH Yellowjackets! I always joke I want him to go there because their mascot is beyond adorable. Lol. I will continue to update about my little man!

Precious Story

I have been dying to share this story. On the way to school one day, we were talking about how Monks would be in school one day. I always choke up thinking about it and he could hear the shakiness in my voice and he said, "momma, why are you sad and going to cry?" I told him how he was my first baby and I couldn't believe how fast he was growing up. He then told me, "but momma, I am always going to love you more than anybody so don't be scared. I'm just turning into a kid now!" I had to laugh through the tears. My baby is a kid now. Such a doll.

My Adorable Kiddos

Call me biased, but these two are too stinking cute! They are our world and amaze us daily. They have the best personalities and are so sweet. I would give anything for my parents to see them and know them.

Cute, right? I now know how to easily blog from my phone so you can expect several updates in the next few days! It's been too long blogging world! We're baaaack!

Missed Us At All?

So sorry for being away so long! Time is just passing by and we seem to stay so busy! The holidays came and went and then the new year started and I vowed to blog again. Yep, failed at that goal. The thought of playing catch up makes my head spin, so we will just start from here! I do have to post some precious pics of my babes though! Stay tuned!
