Santa & Simming

Last night we had dinner at China Star. Monks saw an elderly man with white hair and a white beard. He was very clean cut. Monks pointed and yelled from across the room Santa! Tio and I turned to look and we immediately saw this man and burst out laughing. I said that is not Santa monkey and he looked at me like huh and I said that is just a man and he said whats doin and I said he is eating his dinner and he said oh, he done? I laughed and said I have no idea if he is done or not. Monks then continued to eat his rice. It was so funny!

We then went home to sim!! The water was so nice and almost warm but it still felt refreshing! The pool was now full and Monks had not been in it with it full, he only played in about half of it on Sunday so Tio got in first and then lifted monks in and it came right to his shoulders. He thought it was the neatest thing. He kept lifting his legs up and then would go under! We would pick him up and he would just wipe his face and smile. He loves for you to hold him so he can kick his feet and he tried floating but stays too stiff and uses his abs to sit up some. He played so much and gave me several heart attacks. Lol He is so not scared in the water. He would run from Tio and just scream and scream. He kept making faces too. Tio asked him once to make his silliest face and I am not sure what he was doing but he made his eyes big and kind of lifted his shoulders and smiled creepily with his teeth all showing and scrunched his nose up. It sure was silly and made us all die laughing. He also was asked to do the Hulk and he hunched over and brought one arm above his head and the other across his body and made this scary face. Tio said um, that is not the Hulk and then he laughed like I know I know and did it right. Where does he get this from?? We had the best time and played for about an hour! We got out about 8:20 and in classic Tia Net style, did not need a bath since we swam J He was ready for bed and worn out.

We Are Farmer's!

I know everyone has seen those Farmer’s Insurance commercials. We are Farmers! Bum Ba Da Bum Bum Bum Bum! When it comes on TV or in the car, Monks always says bum bum bum bum! I just think it is so funny how he recognizes it and sings it. He likes that jingle.

Preciousness

Sunday for dinner (yes I cooked Tio) I made sloppy joe’s, mac and cheese and we had chips and dip. Okay, so I sort of cooked. Anyway, Tio and Tia were at church while I made it and Devin was asleep on the couch. Monks was playing with his Buzz car and then I saw him by the hutch in the kitchen. He was playing with one of Olivia’s shower gifts and I said monks are you supposed to be touching that stuff and he said okay, sowwy and put it back. He is learning to say sorry which is very sweet. He has mastered the please and is about 85% there with his thank you. Occasionally he needs that reminder to say it. I am hoping to start on sir and ma’am right after he turns 2. He is just too precious! I really want to record everything he does and share it with everyone. He is so adorable, says silly things and makes the funniest faces. He loves to try and make you laugh by coming up to you and saying boo and if you act scared at all or fake jump he dies laughing. When he plays rough with the guys he has to make sure I am watching and he will say several times wook momma, wook! And when he has a question for you, he is so serious. If we see a bug somewhere, we will have to look at it for about 5 minutes. Is it yucky? Is yucky momma? Momma wook! A bug! Eww. Where go? Whas doin? Momma wook. And then he will step on it. He kills me!! How is one little guy so adorable? I may sound conceited but he is the best little guy in the world! I also love how when I get my phone out to take a pic or when he sees the camera he poses before you can even get ready and says cheese and smiles this big smile!

Our Special Surprise!

This past weekend was so hot and I had had enough. We went to Wal-Mart to buy stuff for tacos and I was going to make dinner for everyone. After about 10 minutes there (we had gone to look at the bikes for Monks first) I was so sweaty and hot and miserable I wanted to cry. This 100+ weather and being 36 weeks pregnant does not mix. I just want to sit in a giant ice chest and relax. I told Devin (in a super whiny voice I am sure) that I did not want to shop or cook or do anything and wanted to leave. He, being the best guy that he is, said okay and we left. He then said he wanted to go to Academy and I said I am not getting down, I don’t want to move. My precious husband went and bought a 10 foot pool for us. It was on sale for $49.99. It is 30 inches deep which is perfect to sit in and have it come just past your chest. It is one of those round ones where you blow up the top ring and then fill. We went home and Monks sat in his swing while I sat in the shade and we watched Devin put it up. It was only half full by the time we were done playing in it and had to put Monks down for his nap. He was hilarious in it though splashing and “simming” and going under water. I swear he is not scared of anything! I get so nervous watching him but I can’t help it.

Our First Video!

Monks wearing my flip flops after the baby shower last Saturday.

Fun Filled Saturday With My Boys

Saturday was a fun, busy and hot day! Monks and I woke up at 7:50 and Devin was already long gone for class at 8. Tio was about to be off work though so we watched Mickey Mouse and Tio came home with doughnuts! Aikman ate a total of 2 plus a small bowl of cereal plus a full cup of milk. He was a hungry boy that morning! We played and hung out and then Devin called at 11:40 he was on his way for lunch and when he got there I asked what time he had to be back and he smiled and said we are done for the day! I was so excited! I went to get ready and Monks ready and Tio and Tia got ready and we all went to lunch at Cotton Patch. It was so good. We then went our separate ways to run errands. Devin, Monks and I had a lot to exchange at Target, as we got several duplicates from our registry. We were there quite a while but it was lots of fun. We got tons of clothes for Olivia with the store credit we were given. We spent $110 and only paid $30 out of pocket. Not bad huh? We then went to check on Apollo at home and check our mail and were going to head to Penney’s but once we left our house, Monks was sound asleep in the backseat of the truck so we headed back to Tio & Tia’s to lay him down. This was about 3 and he napped until 7. Devin and I both napped for about 2 hours also. We woke up refreshed and hungry! We went to Penney’s to do some clearance shopping and found so many super cute things for Olivia and Monks for $3.60! We had a full bag! It was so sweet because Monks was helping us look on the rack and Devin picked up this little romper with red and hot pink flowers on it and then Monks brought one and said here go and it was the same one! Lol My boy has great taste. Olivia will look adorable in it! After that, we ran to Old Navy and found two onesies for her. All their clearance was not her size and the things I found that I wanted so bad were $14.50 a piece and I cannot spend $30 on one outfit. If she was a little older I would, but not being a newborn. Devin did find some hats for Monks and I could kick myself for not getting them because he is so freaking handsome in them!!

After Old Navy we went to Burger King for a very late dinner. Monks got a Transformer in his kids meal and I really don’t know who liked it more, Devin or him. I was so proud of Aikman though, he ate all of his hamburger patty, half his bun, some fries and shared a strawberry cheesecake with me. He had a few fries on his paper and a small piece of meat and Devin went to throw it away and Monks said no, I want it peas. So we said you still eating and he said yes and I said well then eat please and finish and he said I finish and ate the rest. It was so funny. I love when he talks to us. He is so smart. We then left and headed to Tio & Tia’s to show them all our stuff we had bought. He played with Tio and was riding on his back and then he would wrestle and slap his stomach and he was just laughing and laughing. I told him to tickle Tio and he says tickle tickle as he does it but Tio said it was more like pinching than tickling. Okay, we will work on that. J I had no clue it was 10:30 so we said our good nights and Devin put him to bed. At least he had a long nap.

Santa!!

Friday evening we watched Clash of the Titans on HBO. I am pretty sure it is one of Tio’s favorite movies. One of the guys in the movie had a full beard and mustache and even though it was brown in color, as soon as Monks saw him, he yelled Santa! Tio and I laughed and said no, that’s not Santa. It was so funny. Apparently anyone with lots of facial hair is Santa to him now. I just think it’s sweet he still remembers him. Sweet man.

Wee! Trucks Are Fun!

Since the Tahoe has been getting fixed, we have only had the truck to use. I don't know why but Monks loves being in the truck so much. Whenever we buckle him in the backseat in his car seat he says wee wee! He says it several times on the way home from the sitter and she lives the next street over. I am not sure if it seems faster since it is not as big or what but this morning buckling him in he said wee and Devin and I just laughed and then Monks said it's fun! I laughed because I don't know that I have heard him say fun before and I said is it and he just smiled his shy smile. So cute.

Uncles Are Too Much Fun

Pete and Phil made dinner Wednesday night and we all hung out. I know I have mentioned several times Monks love for them but he was overly affectionate that night. He would just stare at them and smile or go up to them and put his face against theirs. They got several kisses and hugs and when we were sitting at the table he kept going to one side of them and yelling boo to scare them and then would laugh when they were scared and then go to the other side. He says Pete (occasionally as Pet) and Phil very well. After much playing and wrestling I walked in the doorway of the TV room and they were all on the couch. Monks was under Phil’s arm and sitting right by him just chillin. I said Monks it’s time for your bath and he did not look at me once and kind of squinted like he was interested in what was on TV, completely ignoring me. I said Aikman, let’s go take a bath and he looked at the guys and then said no but he said it like no, I am good here and I said Aikman Allen you do not tell Mommy no, get up or you are getting a spanking and he looked at Phil like I gotta go and jumped down and ran to the bathroom. I could not believe him. Crazy boy. I just wish I had video of his face watching TV like I did not even exist or like maybe she will go away if I look busy. My wild child. After his bath he was able to go back in there and play with them. Bedtime is so sweet because I tell him okay, tell everyone goodnight and he goes to each person and hugs and kisses them.

Playdate With Dinner

Tuesday night Tio and Tia invited over their old neighbors for dinner. Tio made a Cajun chicken alfredo and a plain alfredo sauce and we had fettuccine noodles, salad, bread and fruit pizza. It was delicious! Their neighbors have an almost 4 year old named Mason so I was excited to see them play together. I had come out of the bathroom and when I went to the dining room I saw Monks sitting down by his Buzz car and Mason sitting on the other side and they were handing each other cars. No shyness, no hesitation and they were both talking away. So sweet. They played for a good 30 minutes before dinner was ready and then it was time to eat. Monks has never had this alfredo sauce so I wondered if he would like it. He ate his bread like how you eat watermelon leaving the outside crust of the French bread and eating all the soft bread inside lol He did not really touch his pasta. I did also give him some blueberries and kiwi and strawberries though. Once he ate all that I twirled a noodle on my fork and fed it to him. He chewed it and smiled and said more peas! He ate all that was on his plate plus some of mine. He kept saying I wike it (I like it). I was so proud of him. I had just cleaned him up when dessert was brought out. Instead of putting him back in his high chair, I put him in my lap and he picked off each piece of fruit and ate it, then licked all the cream cheese icing off the cookie and then ate the cookie. He had a little white beard of icing on his face. I decided to just do his bath then so he could play with Mason before bed. We did our bath and then got on our pajamas and then went back out to play. They took turns riding the Buzz car and pushing a cement mixer truck around the tables and through the kitchen. Then they decided to have the person on the Buzz car chase the other one and they screamed and laughed and squealed for a good twenty minutes. Monks cheeks were all red and he was hot. When he needed to rest he would run up to Tio who was sitting on the couch and hug him and stay there and then take off again. I love to hear him say Ready? Devin called and was out of class a little early so I waited to put Monks down until he got home. He went to bed about 8:30 and went right to sleep. He was worn out. I was so proud of how sweet he played and how much he shared his toys. My big sweet boy.

Coming Soon! Promise!

I know I have a lot of updating to do, but I need pics off my camera! I will try and remember to get the cord to put them on the computer tonight from my house. We are still vacationing at the Silva household J and it has been so much fun. Our bathroom should be done Tuesday the 28th! Can’t wait. Our Tahoe should be fixed then too! We were finally able to get an opening to have it fixed from the hail damage Easter weekend and he will also do the bumper and headlight from Devin’s minor accident on May 16th (was not his fault by the way). I am just ready to have my car back and looking clean again! I need to update about my baby shower which was this past Saturday and so much fun. It was very sad without my mom there but I still enjoyed myself. Sunday for Father’s Day we went swimming at the state park and my monkey is like a little shark in the water. He loves it!! I will update those as soon as I can!! Hopefully tomorrow. Stay tuned!

I Lost My Monkey

Friday night we decorated for the shower. Tia Net, Gramita and Jerolyn came over to help us. Monks had been playing in the TV room with his uncles and Tia Net and Phil had walked outside as they were going to the storage shed and then I noticed I did not hear Aikman. I asked Pete and Tio if he was in there and they said no. I walked down the hall and yelled his name and no answer. I checked all the rooms and then went back out to the kitchen and I could feel this lump in my throat and myself about to panic. I said I can’t find him and Tia and Jerolyn ran outside to look and I ran back down the hall once more. I swear I looked EVERYWHERE! Tio will argue this with me forever, but I checked the bathroom. I went back out there and said I don’t know where he is and Tio got up and said did you check the bathroom? Aikman loves to get in their tub but I HAD checked it. I swear I did. Apparently not well enough because Tio found him sitting in the tub just smiling and playing. I swear my heart had stopped. I then cried out of relief and went to tell Tia and Jerolyn he was inside. Worst feeling ever I tell you. Ugh. Thank God it was at home and not in a store or something. I probably would have gone into labor. Lesson learned.

Genius + Comedian = Monks

My Monks is a genius! I have heard him count to three before and it was so sweet. Yesterday evening we were sitting around the table and this was the conversation:
Me: One…
Monks: Two…
Me: Three…
Monks: Four…
Tio: Five…
Monks: Six…
Tio: Seven…
Monks: Eight!
I was in shock! How smart is he?? He is not even two yet! I was very impressed. I could have just eaten him up right then!

This also made us laugh:
Monks: Whas that?
Me: A drill, don’t touch please.
Monks: A drill?
Me: Yes a drill.
Monks: Okay. Bye bye drill (he waved at it and then he walked off to go down the hall)

We also went to Hobby Lobby last night to get the last of our shower items. Monks was sitting in the basket and he would lean over the side some and I said be careful, you are going to fall and he said I fall? I said you might and he would lean some and then yell Momma, I gon fall! And I would act like I was grabbing him and gasp and say not my monkey, don’t fall! And he would sit up straight and laugh and then say ready? And when I said yes he would do it again. He did it forever and would just laugh hysterically like he was so funny. He is so goofy.

Night One

Our bathroom remodel is in progress! I will post pics soon! Since we only have one bathroom, we are not able to stay there so we are rooming with Tio & Tia! They are too kind.  Last night was our first night and it was fun! We had a great dinner for Tia’s semi birthday celebration and then Tio and Phil went to get dessert while we bathed Monks and got him ready for bed. I told him to get ready to take a bath and he ran down the hall as I was getting his pajamas out of his bag and I walked in the bathroom and that monkey had crawled in the tub himself and was sitting holding a cup with his clothes fully on. I said really, cuz we need to get undressed. He then stood up so I could take his clothes off. Crazy boy. He enjoyed playing and swimming in the tub and even tried to get out by himself. By then it was 8:15 so off to bed for the Monks! I was a little paranoid about him sleeping in his playpen because the last time he did he woke up a lot and would not stay in it. Tia and I worked on the pad though and wrapped it in a soft, thick blanket and I brought his blanket and dog for him. When I put him in it and handed him his blanket he said dog and I handed him the dog and then I felt bad because he said monkey and I said sorry monks, I did not bring your monkey and he said where go and I said he is at home. He was content though and took his dog and laid down. He slept all night! I heard him talking this morning once I was out of the shower so I went in the room to get him and he was sitting up and I said hi monkey, did you sleep good and he said where daddy and I told him he was on his way home from work and would be there any minute and then he rubbed his eyes and stood up and said where Austin? Lol He loves that crazy dog. We then went in the guest room so I could finish getting ready and he would randomly ask me where Austin was. Tia came in to show me her new shirt and when she did, he saw Austin run down the hallway and yelled Austin!!! He was so excited to see him. Devin then got home and finished getting Monks ready while I finished getting ready myself.

Tio Time!

Last night Tia and I went and met with the other two hostesses to finalize shower plans for this Saturday. Tio came to watch Monks. We ate dinner and I got Aikman cleaned up and then we left at 6:40. While at Jerolyn’s house, I got a video text and a picture text. The video was Monks just talking and talking to him and even making these silly sounds. He said they had fun and that he would occasionally ask where is momma and he would tell him at Jerolyn’s and he would say okay and then ask about Daddy and he would say class and get an okay. He played with his cars and they just enjoyed some quality time together. Aren’t they precious?

Where Is The Time Going?

Sorry to be so slow in posting, we have just been busy. Between Devin’s school, getting ready for Olivia, the shower coming up and our bathroom being remodeled, we have been non-stop it seems. I am so ready for a weekend where nothing has to be cleaned out, moved, set up or redone. The 4th of July weekend looks like it will be a good one. Time is flying by and I still can’t believe in less than 42 days Olivia will be officially here. Aikman has been so sweet. He can’t say her name at all for some reason but he will hug my stomach and rest his head on it and if you say where is the baby he points or hugs it. He did kiss my stomach Saturday and it was the sweetest thing. I honestly worried about how he would take to the change, but I know now he will be great. The sitter says he is constantly hugging or loving on the two youngest at her house. He can play really rough at times but he can also be the sweetest, most loving guy you have ever met. He LOVES hugs and kisses. Nothing makes me happier than when I walk in the door at 10 after 5 and he runs up to me and says Momma as he wraps his arms around your neck and gives an open mouth kiss and just holds you for a few seconds. He does it when Devin comes home from work in the morning too. I tell you this boy is perfect!

In other Monks news, he is still talking up a storm. His new thing is saying Dallas Cowboys. He says Dallas very well but Cowboys comes out Tow-buhs at times. If you break it into two parts, its perfect but all at once, not so much. He also says Texas really well. Devin asks him where do you live and he says Texas! He is getting to where he says thank you often. Please he has down but thank you needs a reminder at times. He says dank ooh. He also says I love you and I get so happy when he says it first. He also says Adrian, his cousin on the way!! He says Aid-nin. He will say the most random things too which make us laugh. He was eating blue berries the other day and he bit one and took it out of his mouth and set it on the tray and said sour. How does he even know what that means? Lol. He also loves cereal and calls it see-we-uhl. He will walk to the pantry and say I want cereal please. He is in love with Cinnamon Toast Crunch right now. Yesterday a mouse was on TV and he said oh a bunny and I said no monks, that’s a mouse and he looked at me like oh yeah, my bad and said keek keek (his squeak). When he talks he has the most serious face and his big eyes have so much expression and he makes me smile just looking at him. He loves to dance and we put it on the Sirius channels we have on Dish and we always listen to 90’s on the 9 and he was dancing up a storm. I am not sure where he gets his moves from but they go to the beat and he looks precious. He was dancing coming down the hall and went in to the living room and his ankle turned and he fell and it may sound mean but Devin and I laughed so hard. He got up really quick and did not miss a beat and kept dancing and looked at us like what?

Seeing Uncle Pete

Pete came by so that he could get his swimming trunks and it was sweet how Monks got excited to see him. He looked at us and smiled that shy smile of his and then walked up to Pete with his arms up to be picked up and when he picked him up he laid his head on the side of his shoulder and hugged him and just stayed like that for a few minutes and Pete was talking to him but he would not move from that position. He put him down and watched him from the top of the stairs as he got his swimming trunks out of the cabinet and then Pete said I am going to change in your room and went in Monks room and closed the door and Monks went after him and stood in the hall asking where go repeatedly and I said he is in your room getting dressed and he started to knock on the door. Then Pete opened the door and they played with cars for about 10 minutes. I could just hear Monks showing him everything. It was cute to listen to them. When he went to leave he hugged him and Devin said give him a kiss and Monks kissed him on his cheek. He is such a loving little guy.

That Hurts

This morning I was sitting on the couch and called Aikman over to get dressed. He stood by the TV and just smiled at me. I said Aikman Allen, I asked you to come here and he smiled but did not move. I got up, spanked him and of course he started crying and took my hand and walked to the couch. He wiped his eyes as we put his shirt on and looked at me and said that hurt momma as he rubbed his bottom. I said yes, spanking’s are supposed to hurt. That’s what happens when we don’t listen.

Sometimes I feel a little bad spanking him but it works and we love him enough to make sure he is disciplined when he does wrong.

Monks Loves His Tio and Tia

The last two nights Monks and I were invited over to Tio and Tia’s house for dinner. One night we had hamburgers, pasta salad, ceviche and the most amazing banana pudding. The next night we had grilled chicken, asparagus, corn and beans. So freakin yummy. Monks had the best time playing with Austin. He says his name so cute. They like to play rough together. They were wrestling in the den area and Tio said Austin had his mouth on Aikman’s wrist and he was hanging on as Aikman tried to get him off. He waited for Monks to whine or get upset because it hurt but instead Aikman turned his hand over and put Austin in a choke hold and held him by his neck. Hilarious! No mercy from either of them. Monks also got to take a bath there which he loves. I guess just because it is something new. He also had us all laughing hysterically when he just started doing a bear walk. He looked just like Mowgli from Jungle Book as he was just in a diaper. I don’t know where he got that from but he was so precious doing it. He walked all over and then as soon as Tio went to record he stopped. So Tio got down and showed him how to do it and he did it a little more. He is too funny.

Wild Man

We were watching Team Umizoomi yesterday and it had some frogs on it. I asked Aikman what the frog says and he said duh bit! duh bit! Close enough.

He also saw a chicken on TV and yelled "shicken!" My little mexicano.

While I made dinner last night he brought me a bottle of water. I told him thank you and set it on the counter. He then brought me another one and I said one is enough Monks and he said es for Daddy. I said okay but daddy is at class so lets put it back. He then continued taking them out and setting them on the counter. I said no monkey, put them back please. We don't need them all out and he would just say here go and give me more. I finally had to tell him a stern no and to put them back. He did as he was told but I felt bad. He grabbed his cars and kept playing at the table and as I finished our spaghetti he said whas this momma and I turned to see him shaking one of Devin's diet cokes. I said no, don't shake that and he put the can back in the box. I need to warn Devin! Oops! Hope he doesn't open it in uniform....

We did make Devin some peanut butter cookies last night since he did such a great job on his last test. That was a tough test too! I was confused just helping him study some of it!

Ready? Sim!

Monks new favorite thing is to “swim” in the bathtub. He calls it sim. He takes all his toys out and lays on his stomach. He then looks at you and says ready? And you say ready and he says sim! And kicks his feet repeatedly and moves his arms back and forth sliding on the bottom of the tub. He will then stop, wipe his face off and do it all over again. Ready? Ready. Sim! He also likes to go under but is not sure how to do it completely. He will put his face under and then come up and wipe it or turn his head sideways and put half of his head under. He has swallowed some water a few times and gets up fast and comes to you at the edge and hugs you and I wipe his face and in a matter of seconds he is fine and lays back down in the water. I told Devin come next spring/summer or whenever they start them, I want him to take swimming lessons. I think it would be great for him and he already loves the water. I swear we have more fun with each bath time! I will have to get some pics of him doing it. He is just precious!

I Am In Love

This was taken last night when we brought food up to Tio. I know he has Michael Myers hair and is overdue for a haircut, but regardless, he is the sweetest boy in the world and I am so in love with him. Seriously. Who isn't?

Playing With Cars

These pics are a few days old but it was funny how he just laid there and played. He would line them along the door.

My Monks Knows His Cars

I know I have mentioned Aikman’s obsession with cars and he finally knows the difference between a car and a truck. He also says mo-psycho for motorcycle and loves to watch them pass us in the car. He will spot them at intersections far away or leaving a parking lot. And he yells mo-psycho and then when it passes he says where go? Yesterday when I picked him up from the sitter’s one of the other dads pulled up and Monks yelled Jeep! It was a jeep. So smart. He is learning fast!

Cheers!

Devin said the other day after he picked up Monks and they went home he had his snack and cup of milk and Devin had a glass of water and that Aikman went up to his glass and hit the side and said cheers! Devin laughed so hard and said he did it a few more times. I guess he learned it at the sitter’s because we have not toasted him. Crazy boy.

Curious Monkey

Tia and I went to Kinko’s the other day to print my baby shower invitations (which are so precious by the way!) and while we were there, all I did was answer questions for Monks. He inquired about everything in that place. I am not exaggerating. This is how some of our time there sounded:

Monks: What’s that?
Me: pencils
Monks: What’s that?
Me: Highlighters
Monks: Oh. What’s that?
Me: pens
Monks: What’s that?
Me: The same pencils
Monks: What’s that?
Me: A copier
Monks: What’s that?
Me: paper
Monks: Oh. Who’s at?
Me: a man helping us with invitations
Monks: Where go?
Me: He is printing them in the back
Monks: What’s that?
Me: a shredder
Monks: What’s that?
Me: a man making copies
Monks: uh-oh! What’s that? (the door would chime when opened)
Me: The door, someone walked out.
Monks: Where go?
Me: He is finished so went home
Monks: A baby! Who’s at?
Me: The baby’s mom and dad
Monks: Baby! Momma, baby.
Me: I see her monkey.
Monks: (gasping) what’s that?
Me: the door again, they left.
Monks: Where go?
Me: They went home I guess since they are finished.

We were there about 35 minutes too. Lol. All you heard was his sweet voice and mine in conversation above the buzz of the machines. It was very sweet. He is so smart!

I Am Stuck On Band-Aid Brand.......

Monks had a scab on his knee and apparently it fell off and it was meaty looking. I hated to have it just open so I have been cleaning it and putting ointment on with a band-aid. He is fine with it on (although at times it takes some reminding to not touch). The cutest part is when I clean it and the peroxide bubbles. He will be fine and then say oww, it hurts and so you have to blow on it and he laughs. He will ask you several times what’s that and you tell him his band-aid and he will repeat it or say oh. At night is when he struggles to leave it alone. If he wears shorts, you can bet it will be off in the morning. I asked him about one day and he acted shocked and gasped and said where go?? I said monkey you took it off! And he just smiled. I tried to trick him and put him in some cotton pants so he could not get to it and this morning I saw his pant leg up. I can’t win overnight lol Devin and I looked for the band-aid and could not find it. We asked monks where it was and he grabbed his dog and the band-aid was across the dog’s chest. We laughed so hard. Guess his dog had an owie.

Sweet Dreams

One of the sweetest sights I have ever seen is my monkey asleep. I could watch him each night, seriously. I have really cried before just looking at him because he is so perfect and all mine. I love and adore the little person he is becoming more and more each day. I don't deserve him at times. These pics were taken different nights but they make me smile each time I see them. There he is holding his little dog and the other is funny because he never lays on his back. He has always been a tummy sleeper and once in a while he is on his side but never back. I had to take a pic. At least the flash did not wake him. Lol.

Happy Memorial Day!

We celebrated Sunday since that was the one day we could all be together. Devin, Monks and I went to the grocery store that morning and by the Farmer’s Market for some delicious fruit and zucchini to grill. We had grilled chicken, sausage, zucchini and squash, beans, potato salad, chips and dip, and corn on the cob. It was amazing! Tia and I also cut up a super sweet seedless watermelon, a fresh pineapple, cantaloupe and strawberries for dessert. We ate until we were stuffed. Devin grilled of course while Tia and I put our feet in Monk’s pool and watched him play. It was crazy hot but there was some wind and the water felt so nice. Tia and I would be lying if we said we did not envy their ice cold beers. After we dried off Monks and changed him, we all ate. It was nice to be together and laugh and eat. Monks sure enjoyed all his uncles there. He loves playing with them and getting to wrestle and be thrown around. Thanks you guys, it was a wonderful afternoon/evening.
