Sweet Stories

Monks pooped in the potty twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday! Last time I will brag about it lol. I am so proud of him. Yesterday we were eating dinner and he said “I think my poop is about to come out!” I said well let’s go! We ran to the bathroom and he went. He is so funny.

Saturday I made the kids pumpkin shaped sandwiches and Monks had eaten two and asked for another one. I told him to finish his fruit and some string cheese first so as he ate them, I made him another sandwich and placed it on his plate. He noticed it after about two minutes and said “hey, did you give me this sandwich?” I said “yes sir I did.” He then said “oh thank you so much momma! You’re my best girl!” I then made him 40 more. Just kidding but that was by far the best compliment ever!

I was going through my mom’s old purse and saw her phone. Monks asked for it and I said I don’t know…..He said I promise I won’t break it. I couldn’t resist. He took it to bed with him and told me “I got Gigi’s phone and nothing can stop me now!” I said you are so strange and he said what? I like her phone! I then asked if he ever missed her and he said “yeah a lot. And grandpa too.” I thought that was insanely sweet.

During Monks’ prayers, he always says “thank you for everything you’ve given me” and then continues. The other night he said “thank you for making us.” I said what and he said that’s what Tio said. God made us. I said you are so right, He did. Tio was beyond excited when I told him he said that.

Today when I went home for lunch, Devin blew on Pippa’s food before handing it to her and she picked some up and put it to her lips and blew on it too! It was so stinking sweet! She loves to clap, blow kisses, dance and chomp her teeth together. Speaking of teeth, she has 12! Four on top front, four on bottom front and one in each corner of her mouth, top and bottom. They are little baby molars and are the cutest things ever. I love when we brush her teeth and she opens wide to see the four all in the back.

I have mentioned before how my Pips won’t say Momma. She has started saying it but if you point it out to her, she stops and says her typical “dada, dada, dada.” She says it a lot when I am not around and yesterday in Hobby Lobby she was just saying Mama over and over again. I stared at her and she stopped when she noticed me looking at her. I said I heard you!! I caught you! I told her to say it again and she went “dada, dada.” Such a punk. She laughed hysterically as she continued saying dada.

Pippa's 15 Month Check Up!

Yesterday I was off for Pippa’s 15 month check up. My Pips is growing so fast and she seems so much older in some ways than she should be but still like such a baby at times. Makes me sad. Of course her check up went great! He said she looked perfect and everything was right on track. She weighed 25 lbs 10 oz and was 30 ¾ inches long. He said she was in the 75th percentile so that was good. She eats so much but I guess burns a lot from being so mobile now. Lol. My big girl. She got four shots, one of which was her flu shot. I wanted to get it especially since the new sitter they will be going to has two school age children so they could be exposed. I asked about Monks getting one as well and the nurse said since we were there, she would just do both. Pippa was fine laying there and laughing because the nurse had been tickling her and then came the four sticks and she lost it. Good thing Daddy held her arms. Monks was laying up there too and was talking to Pippa saying “you’re okay sweet girl, it’s okay” and then the nurse interrupted him by saying she liked his Toy Story underwear and he started talking and then she stuck him and I was holding his arms and told him it was okay and then he yelled and began to cry. I sat him up and held him and he said it had hurt and I said I know but it won’t hurt long and then he saw his band aid and was excited and stopped. Poor things. Pips took a little longer to soothe but once I handed her her bottle, she stopped and just drank it in Devin’s arms. They both got suckers and stickers plus a Halloween sticker! We go back in three months! I am so thankful for my super healthy baby girl.

I have no idea why Devin is making this creepy pervert face.  Lol.
Monks is in love with this hat. He seriously wears it everyday and even napped in it  Sunday. Yes, slept in this hat. Preciousness.
Crazy girl. Horns said she looks just like me at that age except her hair is straighter and lighter. :)

Weekend Update

Saturday was really cold outside so we had a lazy day indoors. The kids and I watched Halloween movies and stayed in our jammies all day. We snacked on yummy treats and Monks helped me make chili. It was one I had made before and it is a turkey and three bean chili. So good. I was afraid it would be too hot for the kids so I made them some mummy dogs. During Pippa’s nap Monks and I made chocolate dipped marshmallows with hot chocolate and watched Scooby Doo as we snuggled on the couch. We were so excited because Saturday night they showed Monster House on ABC Family and we had been looking forward to it all week! We ate popcorn and candy corn.

Sunday we had some errands to run and some grocery shopping/final costume touches shopping to do. We all loaded up in the car and were about to leave and the car wouldn’t start. Devin jumped it off and we took Tio food at work and then headed to Auto Zone so they could test it. They said we needed a new battery. It showed to be fully charged but wasn’t holding the charge. We then went to O’Reilly’s for a second opinion and they said the same thing. Devin had prices to compare for both places and $169 dollars later, we were good to go. We went to Wal-Mart and then home to watch the Cowboys play. We put the kids to nap but their naps didn’t last too long when Devin started hollering and yelling at Dez Bryant and repeating “3rd and 1!” We spent the rest of the day playing games and cooking. I tried out a new Cream Cheese Chicken recipe. Devin and Pips were huge fans, Monks and I were just eh. The vegetables and rice I made were really good though. Lol. Pretty lazy weekend!

Pips loves this bear so much. She is always on it. and kissing it.
Love this one. And yes, she is wearing Santa pants.

Mummy Dogs!
Representing for Pete and Phil lol
So precious here! Pips looks so old and Monks looks so sweet with that crazy smile.

She looks so old here!

Random Pics

Pippa had fallen asleep and I started to stare at her. When we slowed down she opened her eyes and just stared at me. Would have been creepy but she is so darn precious. Lol.
We were on our way to the park and Adele's Someone Like You came on so Devin and I were singing it at the top of our lungs and this is what Pippa thought of that.
Monks sang some but look at these glasses and his hat. He loves them so much.
This was Pippa eating a tiny piece of Twix. She couldn't just put it in her mouth and eat it, she had to put it in, take it out, suck all the caramel and chocolate off and then eat the cookie part.

S'mores for the first time ever! He loved them so much. He said they were the "best thing ever I had in my whole life and are so mad good" Sweet boy. He also quotes Sandlot on how to make them. It is hilarious.

Monks and Daddy made these cookies Monday. How yummy! He was so proud of them.

We Are On a Roll!

I have to brag. Okay so I always brag but this is super brag worthy. My Monks has pooped in the potty several times lately! Saturday morning we were playing and he said “I have to go poop momma!” and he ran to the bathroom and went. I was so proud! We went to Wal-Mart later in the day to buy some more Potty prizes. He picked out candy and some cars. We keep them in the bathroom and if he goes poop, he gets something! Sunday he went again in the potty and then Devin just called me at work and said Aikman needed to tell me something. He then came on the phone and yelled “I went poop in the potty again!” I was so proud of him and excited. He told me he got a blue car and some candy corn. (He is OBSESSED with candy corn!) We are on a roll now! He will occasionally poop in his diaper early morning (from overnight) but it has been a while since he pooped in his underwear. I thought this day would never come ha ha. Congrats Monks, you are such a big boy!

Weekend Update

Our weekend was low key but productive. Saturday we had four people to interview for our new sitter position. I had not posted on here yet because it was still kind of hush hush but Mike and Jenny and my sweet man Adrian will be moving soon. I won’t go into too much detail but of course Tia keeps Monks and Pips now, so we needed to start looking just to be safe. It is a sad yet exciting time. It was tough enough leaving Aikman with someone when I returned to work, but now I have to leave both my babies. Honestly with Larissa (before Tia started) I had no worries being I knew Larissa and had worked with her in a daycare and I knew the heart she had for children but now I feel like we are starting over again and I get nervous. The one plus side to Monks being 3 and so talkative is I can ask him questions versus just Pippa who doesn’t talk yet. I do have to say the two we met we did love! One would have the kids at her home and the other would come to ours. Both had awesome references, experience and history and just seemed to really enjoy children. Our other two never showed up and never called so that was easy to mark them off. Now we face the hard part of deciding who to pick. We also have two interviews today so we shall see! I am so thankful it has gone well this far and we aren’t having to deal with people we don't care for. I am confident we will find and pick the best person for our children. I made my list of interview questions and had Mike and Jenny kind of go over my list with me to see what they thought. Mike told me to ask them if they feared death and if they ask why then tell them “because if something happens to either of my children, someone in my family will kill you.” Lol.

Sunday we went grocery shopping, watched the Cowboys win (woo hoo!) and just hung out together as a family. The kids napped for nearly four hours Sunday so Devin and I had some alone time. It was nice. Monks is on this “making a tent” kick and having smores so we have been getting some sheets and stuff together to do this while we watch Halloween movies. Such a great weekend with my sweet babies.

Our Sunday

We finally did it! After dragging our feet and making excuses, we went to church on Sunday! We went to Elmcrest Baptist Church. We took the kids to the nursery there and the ladies were so nice. They welcomed us right in and asked the kids names. Monks got a little shy and then all of a sudden yelled “they have so many cool toys here!” Pippa started looking at books and was just sitting on the floor. The ladies asked if we cared if the kids had snack and I told her about Monks in case he needed to pee. I was afraid he would be shy and not tell them he needed to go. We walked out and I was nervous Pips would cry but she just read books. She could care less. She smiled at me as I walked out and I left it at that. Devin and I then walked back outside to the sanctuary and were immediately greeted by several people. Everyone was so nice. Like sincere and seemed really glad to have us. The inside was huge! I never would have imagined from the outside that it was that big. I really enjoyed the music and the pastor was funny, kept my attention and I really felt interested in what he said. Overall, I really liked that church. Of course we still have others to check out before we decide on just one to become members of but it is a start! I was so glad we went. When church let out, we went to get the kids and they were both playing. I was told they both did very well and I was given pictures they colored. So cute. We then signed them out and headed home. When we walked through the parking lot, I asked Aikman if he had fun. He said he had so much fun. I asked him about his snack and he said they had goldfish. He also said Pippa sat at the little table with them in one of the chairs. Oh man I wish I had a picture of that! I asked if he went potty and he said yes. I said did you tell the ladies you needed to go and he said yes. He said he needed to pee so told them and they took him. He then told me the bathroom was so cool! I asked him what made it cool and he said it had small stairs to get to the toilet and the soap was super cool. He said you put your hand on the wall and get the soap! I assume he is talking about a normal soap dispenser and he has used those several times so I don’t know what made this one stand out so much, but it did. J Crazy boy. So get him a soap dispenser and a step stool and he is in heaven. Lol. I am glad the kids enjoyed it. They have Sunday school also so if we return there, he will enjoy that.

We then went to Bueno to grab something to eat and headed home to watch the Cowboys. It was a really good game but they just couldn’t do it. After the game and Pippa’s nap, we headed to one of the middle schools so Devin could meet up with other Sheriff’s Office guys and play flag football. One of the wives saw an ad on Craigslist for people to play. They all took turns and then winner played everyone. Some people out there were super funky lol and I don’t think we will go again, but the kids enjoyed the time outside. Monks took three balls and they had an entire field to play in. It was funny when I set Pips down to roam, she kept going for the parking lot. We were there nearly three hours! Not good when I thought it would only be an hour or so. The kids devoured the bottle of water and boxes of raisins like they had never eaten. The only thing that saved me at the end was Devin’s phone. Monks had had enough of playing so he watched Netflix on Devin’s phone. Pippa enjoyed pushing her stroller in the grass so all was good.

Sweet Stories

Aikman was playing with this phone he has and I heard this conversation: “Oh hey Mike and Jenny. Oh yeah. Okay. No, no, no, its way too late. No, Mike and Jenny go to bed now you hear me? It’s too late for cake. No it’s too late for cake. Go to bed.” I laughed so hard as I listened to him talk. He makes up the funniest conversations with people. He says he always talks to Mike and Jenny or Pete and Phil.

Pippa was brushing her hair (half the time she uses the back part of the brush lol) and I said “look at my baby girl, brush it!” She smiled and went from her head all the way down her body to her feet and then stood and clapped. I said “you’re not Rapunzel sweetheart.” She just looked at me and smiled. Crazy girl.

Speaking of Pippa being crazy, oh my goodness! She is my wild child. I cannot even tell you how laid back Monks was at her age. He listened so well, he never climbed things or played with things he wasn’t supposed to and he NEVER ate stuff off the ground. Oh how the tables have turned. Pippa is my little daredevil. You constantly have to keep an eye on her. (I know you should always watch your children, but you know what I mean) She has escaped her stroller, car seat, highchair and tried to crawl out of her bed the other day. She had one leg up and was trying to pull herself out by stepping on the bumper. She stands up in shopping carts and even fell out of the basket at Target the other day. Yes, fell out onto the hard floor. I have never been so scared in my life! She cried, yes but then after about 30 seconds, pointed to some toy on the shelf and began to “talk” and reach for it. She loves climbing on the couches now and we used to put our ottoman in the entry way to the hall and she climbs over that with ease. Time for some real baby gates I guess. She was on our bed and wanted down so I came around to get her and she just jumped off face first. Fearless! I always tell her she will be the death of me and she just smiles and laughs. Her personality shines through more and more each day and I continue to be amazed by her.

Getting in the Spirit of Halloween...

The other morning I decided to try and be cute and make breakfast fun. I got out my cookie cutters and cut Aikman and Pippa some bats on sliced bread and then mixed up some chocolate peanut butter. They absolutely love it! We had pears with it and some little smoothie drinks and Aikman ate 4 bats and Pippa had 3 and Monks still asked for more but I cut him off. Two fit in one slice of bread so that is a lot for them to eat once! He now asks for bat sandwiches. I also cut some sliced cheddar in the shape of ghosts the other day so now he loves ghost cheese. I have so many little recipes and found so many things to make fun lunches and snacks for Halloween. We will count down the days with lots of fun and yummy snacks!

Monks also pooped in the potty again on Sunday so got a Tootsie Roll pop and some stickers which he put on his face. Crazy boy. I was so proud of him. I would say by Thanksgiving he will have it down. He is a "pro" pee-er already. I just adore this little guy!

I love this pose! The other sticker is on his cheek.

Pumpkin Patch Again!

Saturday morning we went out to the patch for some family and cousin pics. It was insanely windy so I am not sure why I even attempted to fix my hair but oh well. We also had the hardest time getting all the kids to look at the cameras. Lol. Everything else out there was interesting to them BUT us. We did the best we could and still got some crazy cute pictures. Our babies are just too photogenic. Heck, we all are so come wind or rain, we all still look great! These are just from Tio's camera-I haven't got the ones off Devin's phone yet.

I took this perfect one of Sweet Man
Adrian's expression here kills me. Tio says he looks scared of Pippa but I think he looks like he would be snapping from side to side and singing some jazzy beat.
My Pips modeling. Look at that wind blowing! Get it girl! Lol.
Hi kids, don't look too happy!
Aww....
I pulled them in this wagon and they enjoyed it so much. I know you can't tell by their faces, but they were laughing and smiling. Ha ha.
Perfection!
They are making the same face here. So cute!
So precious.
Hunchback Pippa
Love this. Have it as my desktop at work right now.
Precious pie! I just wanna kiss that face!

Hopper's Birthday Party

Saturday afternoon we went to Hopper’s to celebrate her 4th birthday! She had a Doc McStuffin’s theme (little show on Disney) and an air castle! There was just the right amount of kids in that everyone jumped at the same time. Monks was the youngest in there and had so much fun. He was so cute to watch. Only little boy. Lol. I never put Pippa in it but she had fun roaming the yard and hanging out in her stroller. Stephanni served popcorn and hot dogs. The kids had little smokies cooked and served in a bun cut in fourths. Baby hotdogs! So cute! My kids had so many between the two of them. She then had two games, one you had to pin the band-aid on Hooper’s knee (it was a big blown up picture of her) and then you had to guess how many pieces of candy were in a jar. It had suckers and hard candy. Guess who won that one? My monkey!!! He was the closest and was only 12 off! He was so excited. He won a little dancing skeleton which of course he adores! The party ended just as it was starting to rain. It sprinkled on us as we got Aikman out of the bounce house and put his shoes on. She had the cutest favors! To go with the theme, she gave out little “doctor kits”! They were pencil bags with a picture of each kid on them that said doctor’s assistant and were full of goodies. Aikman was so excited because it had little pill boxes with candy in them and she gave him several superhero band aids, a plastic syringe (tub time!), a wrap and several other supplies. Such a great idea Steph! We said our goodbyes and thank yous and as we turned off the street, it began to pour! It even hailed some. Aikman loved it and Pippa was out. She had not napped that day but 30 minutes and was wore out! Poor baby. We had so much fun and Aikman slept so good that night. Lol. Thanks again for a super fun party! Happy 4th Hopper!

This pic looks fake lol

Pips eating a cupcake!

Sound asleep

Such a Big Girl!

Here is my Pips drinking from a big girl cup Monday! Devin said she did a really good job and the first few sips spilled some, but then she got the hang of how much to tilt it. So sweet!
