Random Stories & Pics

After Monks met Ya-Ya, Pete’s new kitten, he is obsessed with him. That first night in the bath he asked me if he could get a kitty. I said no without hesitation. I think that surprised him a little. He asked me why and I explained he had a dog and we didn’t need a kitty. He went on to ask if he could have a pet crocodile. I said no. He asked about a shark. I again said no. Leopard was next to which my response was, you guessed it, um, no. I had to explain to him how those are wild animals and people don’t have the room or equipment to care for a wild animal and that it is not fair to the animal to be locked up. I had to throw in there about how zoos are the exception and they copy their habitats so he wouldn’t freak out the next time we went to the zoo. Lol. He then sat there and looked up and asked if he could have a fish. I said that might work, but just one. He said that was fine. He told me he wanted a blue fish. I said we would talk to daddy and see. He then said no, wait, I want a red crab! I laughed and said we would see. Crazy thing.

The other day when I was getting dressed, I was facing away from Aikman and he commented on my tattoo on my lower back. I know he has seen it before but he just never really asks. He then said, “momma, why do you have that big thing on our butt?” Okay, well it’s not huge and it’s not my butt lol but I said, “because when mommy was younger she wanted one and got it there so not many people would see it.” He said oh. He then said, “that is so silly of you to do momma!” and he just shook his head. I told him I hoped he felt that way in the future as well.

We were finishing dinner at the table one evening and Aikman said he wanted to go swimming! I said okay, let’s finish eating first. He smiled at me with that sweet smile and said he wanted Pippa, me and Daddy to go too. I said okay, it will be a family affair! He said, “I just love my family so much momma. I love daddy and I love you and I love Pippa. My two best girls! Momma and Pippa, you’re my best girls right?” I said you know it! He gave me a thumbs up. Precious boy.

Art Time

The other night after dinner, the kids were needing something fun to do. What is more fun than an art project? You take glue and draw a picture on some paper. You then sprinkle some salt all over your glue and dump off the extra. We found the more salt you used, the better! Good thing it is cheap. You then dip your paintbrush in a mixture of food coloring and water and just barely touch it to the salt. The color takes off through the salt and has a tie dye effect. The pics came out so pretty! Pips ate more of her salt and glue than she should ended up painting, but she had fun. She would taste it and go "blech!" and make the most disgusted face. Stop eating it then baby girl! She also enjoyed painting the paper more than her design but that is what being creative is all about! This week, we will try puffy art! I have seen this project on Pinterest several times so don't know who the originator is. Either way, thanks for a great project for the kiddos!

That was his machine. He later made a spaceship!
Lots of salt!

So pretty! His pocket on his shirt has an old cell phone and chap stick in it. Lol. Weird kid.

Sunday Funday

Sunday morning we met everyone at Grandy's for breakfast. After a big breakfast and saying our goodbyes, we headed home to get our grocery list for Sam's. We did some shopping and then I had to run by Wal-Mart and Devin was so tired so he went to bed while I took the kids. We exchanged a shirt and hit up the toys to just look! It was crazy hot outside and barely 11:30 so we saw this swimming pool for $17 and I jumped on that! We stopped by Sonic on the way home to get a corn dog and drinks for the kids. I got a ginormous cherry limeade. They ate and then went to bed. I put some stuff away and then sat on the couch myself to rest. Kirk and Jennifer were coming over around 3 and so I had a good two hours. I slept for about one and then Devin woke up to start the grill. They were releasing some of those bug bombs since they are kind of out in the country and Jennifer saw a spider and freaked and told Kirk he needed to bomb the whole house. Lol. I am not even making fun of her, I would have done the same thing. They needed somewhere to go for about 3 hours and asked if they could bring steaks and sausage and come over. Um, yeah! We made the sides and the kids swam in their new pool while Devin grilled. We ate and they left about 6:20. We cleaned up and then just relaxed. We look forward to next weekend where we have nothing but Aikman's game.

Saturday Evening

After the shower, we went home and changed and talked all about the shower. Tia Nette, Monks and I played a few rounds of Candy Land (he won each time and WE did NOT cheat). Pips played dress up with Tia Nette's heels from the shower. Too cute! We then made dinner. We had tacos and rice and corn. We then went to Prime Time to play some Putt Putt! Monks got a hole in one on the first hole! Big Tio got a hole in one also! We had alot of fun playing and then went to Nikki's for some dessert! It was almost 9:30 and the kids still needed their baths. It was a busy day, but an awesome one! So many fun things to do!

Look at this girl!

Aww!
Prime Time Princess as Devin called her.

He was singing to Justin Timberlake so wouldn't look at me.

The kids both had birthday cake.

Shower Time

We went to Nicole's shower for sweet Lucas in the afternoon. Tia wasn't able to come down, but Tia Nette, Jennifer and I went and had a great time. She looked great and got so many nice things for Lucas. He is already loved so much and we have yet to see his sweet face! She really likes owls and wanted to incorporate them into his nursery. I like that since my mom loved owls as well. I did miss Gigi and I know she would have been insane with her fourth grand baby. Huge thanks to Tia Nette for making the trip down to celebrate Lucas as well. Oh, and I won both the games thank you very much!

Saturday Morning

We had a busy busy weekend once again! Big Tio and Tia Nette came into town for Aikman's game and Lucas' shower! Our game went well. The temperatures were just right although a little windy, but that is better than no breeze! Our kids did great and hit the ball each time. The game flew by and then we headed home to change and get ready for an early lunch. We hung out some and Pete came over after getting Ya-Ya to show Tia Nette. After they all played with the cat (not my thing) we had chili cheese dogs and shared some laughs. It was then time for naps and time to get ready for the baby shower.....

Weekend Update

We started our Saturday morning with Monkey’s game! They did really well and continue to improve each week. Mike and Jenny and Adrian got to see him for the first time, as did Jerolyn. It was a lot of fun having everyone out there to cheer us on!

Monks playing short stop

We headed home, got changed and went to the park to play for a little while. We then had lunch at JoJo’s BBQ out in Potosi. Devin had been there with the guy from his shift and really liked it. It was very good and we were stuffed. It was then home for naps! I had to go to the grocery store so while everyone slept, I stocked up on yummy food! We decided to go out to the State Park around 5 to swim! I love their pools and so do the kids. Pips, Adrian, Tia and I tried to stay in the kiddy pool, but Adrian wanted to swim like a big boy! We went to the big pool for a little while. We stayed until they closed at 7 and headed home for dinner! We had a late lunch, so the timing was perfect! We made steak and chicken fajitas and had rice and beans.

Monks had my phone and took these random pics. He had pics of strangers in line! Lol. I had no idea he was taking them!

I took this of them out front, while Jenny finished her ribs. Apparently no one wanted to look at me. Lol.
Worn out!
Sunday was kind of a lazy day as Devin caught up on his sleep and poor Tia didn’t feel too well so she slept as well. We were glad we had had our fun day for Father’s Day the day before! We did still open cards and I made a yummy breakfast. Pete even came over and we had a card for him. Technically his first Father’s Day!

Monks put EVERY SINGLE TOY he owned in the playpen for Adrian when he woke up. Said he wanted him to be able to play. Not sure how he could feel his feet lol but he was just laughing and having fun!
Crazy cousins!
Tio and Tia ended up staying until Monday afternoon when the kids went down for nap since Ms. Morgan had called in. It was a huge help since I had just taken three days the previous week off. They left in time for Adrian to sleep the whole way too! We really had a wonderful time and I love when they come to visit!
