Monkey Tails: Christmas Parade

Last Tuesday we went to the Christmas Parade! We look forward to it every year. Just so you know, we went every year before any of us had kids too so it is a real tradition for the Anderson/Silva clan. Everyone could make it but Phil. He had to work that night. We sure missed him! We wanted to be sure to get a good seat and it is always packed so we got there an hour before it started. Yep, a whole 60 minutes. Babies get restless in 60 minutes. We had to end up giving Pippa her bottle but she would get so mad that she couldn’t hold it very well with mittens on. She also got mad I hand fed her Goldfish instead of letting her eat them herself. It was pretty cool out so I didn’t want her hands exposed. Adrian had to be taken out for a little while to chill out. Monks had a blast but he also wasn’t confined to a stroller. Monks had lots of fun jumping off the curb and watching the people and cars driving by until they closed off the roads. My boy is so precious. He gets so excited about the holidays just like I do. It lasted a little over an hour and it was awesome as usual! We saw so many bands, churches, floats, pretty girls on horses and just random businesses. Aikman got so happy when he saw the Mr. Gatti’s bug plus it had a truck behind it with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and when Aikman saw it he yelled “look Pete, there’s yous car!” since Pete works there. Lol. Oh I died laughing but my Monks is already hating on Abilene High! I couldn’t be more proud lol The Eagles came by first and being huge Cougar fans, he has heard us talk before. Aikman saw their band and cheerleaders coming and this was our convo:

Monks: Is those the Eagles momma?

Me: Yes sir!

Monks: Eww, I not like them!

Me: Me either!

We don’t wave or cheer when they go by and the cheerleaders were waving to everyone and Aikman points to them and yells “Don’t wave at us Eagles!!” I laughed so hard. Gigi would have been so proud. When the Cougars came by, the two mascots came and gave him five so he was beyond thrilled! Some floats handed out candy canes and Aikman was in heaven! He loves peppermint so much. He had like five mini candy canes in his pocket. I let him eat two. At least he will always have nice breath! There were several animals in the parade including dogs. My little animal lover Pippa goes crazy. She would wave and wave and say “hi dog!” over and over. She waved at pretty much anything that went by. It is so cute to see her. She has down that homecoming queen wave! It was such a fun time and we look forward to next year!
