My Pips had her one year check up yesterday! I took the day
off as usual to spend with Devin and my babies. Pippa was all excited when we
were there and was as happy as could be. She got her height, weight and head
measurement taken and was just fine. She smiled and was clapping. We crossed
our fingers when the nurse walked out because we knew we would be waiting for
Dr. Steadman at that point. The second he walked in, I rubbed Pippa’s foot and
told her she was okay, just thinking she would start to bawl, and she didn’t!
She was even smiling at him. She let him look at her and laid back on the table
without a single frown. We were so proud. J He said she couldn’t look more perfect. He said she
is right on with everything, physically and emotionally/developmentally however
you want to say it. I love how he compliments us and tells us what a great job
we are doing. I feel like a little kid getting praised for something lol We
asked him a few questions and then we were done! It was shot time. The nurse
held her two feet and Devin held her top and was just talking to her. She was
talking and then immediately her eyes got big and she screamed. She screamed
loud and hard. She was crying so hard that no sound came out and her face was
bright red and her lips were purple. Poor baby. Monks had Devin’s iphone and
was looking at flashcards on it and he said, without looking up, you’re okay
Pippa. She did not calm down until after she was dressed and had her bottle. She
still had huge tears on her cheeks but she smiled. My poor baby girl.
She weighed in at 24 lbs, 12 oz and was 29.75 in length.
