Saturday was spent running around and doing some shopping. Me
and the kiddos met up with Tio, Tia and Adrian. We grabbed some sausage
mcmuffins and headed to Children’s Place. Pippa got a gift card for her
birthday but I only found a pair of Capri length leggings. All the stuff I fell
in love with is for fall so I hated to pay full price for it and Pippa seems to
be going through a little growth spurt and I hate to buy super cute things she
might not fit in come October/November. We then headed to Kid’s Village. She
also had a gift card to there so I was beyond excited. Tia and I immediately
hit up the clearance racks and I found her some pajamas and a dress. I also
bought her two pairs of shoes as none of hers fit anymore. Normally I would not
have bought them, they are the Robeez ones and they were $25 a pair. That is a
lot for baby shoes! They do have soft soles and are great for learning to walk
so I am excited. So thank you Uncle Phil for the shoes and clothes! J We still have $16 left
on the gift card. Oh and let me mention my Pips is going to be a shopper when
she grows up. She will have to go with her Tia lol because I can’t stand to
look at everything and try things on. I was just talking to her as we looked at
clothes and would ask her stuff and she would clap or smile or say yeah when I
asked if she liked something. Crazy little girl. We then headed to lunch at
Wendy’s. Man oh man that was an adventure. First off, everyone stared at us the
whole time as we sat the kids in highchairs and got situated. Second, you just
had to see these people there. Crazy! Our food was good but we were glad when
we got to leave. We then headed to this new Boutique/Consignment store in town.
The babies fell asleep in their car seats and Monks and Tio were getting sleepy
so only Tia and I got down. They all stayed in the nice air conditioned car.
Some of the clothes are gently used but the other wall was all brand new items
she ordered in bulk. I was so excited because the brands she carries cost you
anywhere from $30 to $40 at Kid’s Village and Under One Roof, but she sold them
all for $20! I have a new favorite place lol I also bought Pips a brand new romper.
She outgrew her other one and never even wore it. L I got her a light pink one.
We then took Adrian and Tio home to nap/watch the Olympics and I took my babies
home to nap. Tia and I then went by ourselves to another children’s consignment
store she wanted to look at. We also went to Payless and another children’s
store we had never been to. We were all boutiqued out! I dropped her off and
headed home. We all met about three hours later for dinner. We tried this new
place called Lucy’s. It’s mainly hamburgers but they had a few other things on
the menu. Oh man it was amazing! Dare I say a little teeny tiny bit better than
Wholly Cow? Delicious! I had a bacon and blue cheese burger, Devin got a normal
cheeseburger and Monks got a corn dog while Pippa ate a grilled cheese. The
best part was their homemade ice cream for dessert. They had a peanut butter
flavor which sounded a bit too much to me but it was amazing! Not too strong
but just enough flavor. We also got chocolate with it so when it began to melt,
it tasted like a Reese’s! So good.
Sunday, we spent a fun day as a family. I had some Gerber
daisies left over from Pippa’s party, so we took fresh flowers out to Grandpa
and Gigi. We then went to the zoo. It was 98 degrees out and when we were at
the cemeteries, Aikman kept saying he was hot. Devin told him well you won’t be
able to make it at the zoo then! It will be way too hot. We weren’t positive we
would take the kids, being that it was so hot, but we had to when Monks tried
to fool us. We were just leaving the Veteran’s Cemetery when Aikman said man,
momma it is so cold outside. I said um, not really, it might be cold in here
with the air on but it is warm outside the car. He said no, I felt it outside,
man it is pretty cold. Devin said you just said it was hot and he said no, it’s
not, it’s so cool! I love it! I told Devin should I turn down his air and Devin
said he is doing that so we go to the zoo. I said oh, duh. Devin then asked
him, should we go to the zoo and he said yes, it’s so cold outside. Lol. Hey,
he tried so we had to give it to him. Since we have our membership, we figured
it wasn’t costing us anything so we could sit on one of the grassy lawns and
just hang out in the shade if we wanted to. It was insanely hot but we found
ways to keep cool. The lake with the fish gave some coolness off and so we
watched the fish and turtles for a while and we even sat under a tree on some
big rocks with some cold drinks. We bought the kids little souvenir cups.
Aikman wanted the orange giraffe and we got Pippa the yellow lion. They fill
them with ice cold lemonade and they have little sucky tops. Pippa was drinking
hers on her own! Such a big girl. We took her out of the stroller and let her
sit and cruise around. She can stand on her own now so she would just stand up
straight and then sit down. We spent a while in the air conditioned aquarium
areas and had fun watching the fish and giant turtles. We then grabbed some
lunch, went home and ate and then we all took naps. Pips slept from 1:30 until
6 (someone was worn out!) and Devin, Aikman and I slept from 2:30 until 5:30.
We then went to the grocery store, ate Chinese food, and watched Night at The
Museum. The kids went to bed late, but it was fun and since they got to sleep
in today with Devin, we let it slide.

This was my Pips eating scrambled eggs. I told her to blow kisses and she did this. |

She sat in her car seat base and put all of Aikman's cars in it. See Monks in the glass? :) |

That's a little spider monkey sleeping in the corner. |
