Halloween was a blast! Omg, we had sooo much fun! This year
was so exciting for Aikman because he was old enough to fully appreciate
Halloween and go door to door but young enough to be so silly and get crazy
excited about everything! We got so many compliments on their costumes and not
to toot my horn but…..they did come out just as I had imagined. Aikman told me
on the way to Tio and Tia’s that morning “it’s almost Halloween!” I said monkey
it is today! Today is Halloween! He happily told Tia Happy Halloween when we
got inside and I couldn’t wait for the day to end to get the party started!
When Devin and the kids picked me up from work, Monks told me “We are about to
trick or treat momma!” We rushed home to get them dressed and it didn’t take as
long as I thought it would. Devin painted Monks’ face pretty fast and then it
was time for pics! My babies were beyond precious and both of them rocked their
costumes! Monks never messed with his face paint and Pippa never bothered with
her hood or the feathers. Buckling her in her car seat was a real pain though
but oh well, she was still precious. We met up with Tio, Tia and Adrian and
went to three fall fests and then as they headed to church we headed to one of
Devin’s friend’s house for the kids to hit up their first house. Monks was
precious walking up the sidewalk as their family came out to see them. Everyone
loved them both so much and Monks was just as happy as could be and said Happy
Halloween! He then said trick or treat and then they gave him four handfuls.
Four! They even asked him to howl and he did. They thought that was too cute.
Pips got a few handfuls in her bucket too. We then headed over to Craig and
Jerolyn’s neighborhood. We went to their house first and then walked about four
blocks. There were so many kids! I guess because it is such a nice neighborhood
but lots of people there obviously didn’t live anywhere near it! Lol. The fire
station is right down the street so the kids got candy from the firemen! Monks
was in heaven. People gave out candy, pretzels and even bottles of water! How
sweet. Pippa went to about four houses and then chilled in the stroller the
rest of the time while Monks and I went to the doors. I was so so proud of my
baby because not only was he the cutest little wolf man in town, but he had the
best manners out of anyone and my baby is only 3. He waited his turn, said
Trick-or-treat and ALWAYS finished with a thank you. That makes mommy insanely
happy. He was a pro. He got so happy at one house because as we walked up to
the house, the family had a glass door and there was just a German shepherd
sitting there. He said “look momma, hims is like Apollo! Oh he is so cute!” He
then rang the bell (something else he loved) and another German shepherd came
to the door. After getting his candy, he ran to tell daddy what he had seen! We
finished the night about 8:10 and then headed to surprise Pete and Phil at
work. We only stayed for about 5 minutes with each one, but the kids loved
seeing them and everyone else did too. Pippa was precious as she ran to both of
them when she saw them and hugged them. We then headed to Sonic for $0.50 corn
dogs and then home to eat! It was about 8:40 when we got home and Pippa did not
eat. She just sat in her highchair staring and so I put her to bed. She took
that bottle right out of my hands. Sweet girl. Monks ate almost two corn dogs,
along with cheese, grapes and a few tater tots. He then took a shower with
Devin to get all that hairspray out of his hair and wash off his wolf face. I
cannot wait until next year. Aikman and Pippa’s faces were priceless. I will
never forget that night. Better start thinking about costumes now……
