Saturday was our game and before that, we had pictures made.
Oh em gee. They took individual ones and then team ones and he even took some
of Devin with just Monks! I could have died! Can you say cuteness overload? I
can’t wait to get them. Our game went great and we were so proud of the kids! We
used our own tee to bat and it worked SOOO much better. All our kids hit on the
first time with it! We actually got some outs too! They were hustling out
there! We did have three players fight over the ball a few times, but it was
obvious they were all just eager to play! Can’t fault them for that! The game
flew by and we had a great time. My monkey did a great job and ran to first
base as soon as he batted.
We then went home and were so sweaty and dirty, we cooled
off by washing our car! The kids helped Devin while I swept in the garage. They
then helped Devin clean out his police car! Monks was a huge help and so
excited to help. Pips helped, but then enjoyed pretending she was steering the
car. We then were hot and wet so decided to slip on our bathing suits and go
swimming! We went to the YMCA and swam for about an hour and a half. We came
home, had naps and then played in the backyard and inside. We had a yummy
dinner of parmesan crusted tilapia, green beans and garlic and rosemary roasted
potatoes. The kids hated the potatoes but I expected that. They will only eat French
fries and occasionally Pips will eat a baked potato. Other than that, they don’t
touch them. The fish and green beans were devoured though. And they both HAVE
to have lemon squeezed on their fish. Devin had to work at IHOP that night and
then called out to assist with a wreck, so he got home at 5:15 that Sunday
morning.
The kids were up at 7 so I got up with them and we had breakfast and
began our day. We had a few things to try out! We made some frozen surprises!
You put a small toy in a balloon, fill it with water, enough to cover it and
freeze it. Once frozen, cut off the balloon and let your kid play with it and
break it to get out their toy! We used random things around the house so we had
a tiger, some snakes, a ring and a bunny. Waiting for them to freeze was tough
for the kids, but once they were told we could play after naps, that gave them
something to look forward to. While our prizes froze, we made some Kool-Aid
playdoh! Monks chose grape as his flavor and it smelled so good! He played for
a while with it, Pips only a little while. She doesn’t like getting too messy
or having weird things in her hand. We also filled some balloons with Playdoh
and drew faces on them. The faces came off, but they had a fun time squishing
them and squeezing them. We also made a tent under the kitchen table and took
turns jumping from pillow to pillow on the floor. We rounded up some thick throw
pillows and they had a blast! After naps, it was time for our prizes! I gave
the kids three frozen “eggs” each and they took them outside. Again, Pips lost
interest within minutes since they were so cold and let Aikman break them for her, so she could have
the prize. Aikman threw them on the ground and it would chip away at the ice.
Apollo tried eating all of them, and may have managed to swallow one of our
tiny snakes. We can’t find it. Lol. They had so much fun playing with the toys
and it was so hot so we decided to get out our bucket and play in the water.
Pete and Phil then came over and we all had dinner and hung out. They left and then
we all cleaned up as a family. Monks is on this cleaning kick. Give that boy a
Lysol wipe, and your walls will be spotless! I did pack Pippa’s and Monks’
clothes for our Kerrville trip this week! Although it is for Gramita’s funeral,
we are so excited to see everyone! It will definitely be a celebration!
