Friday evening was spent celebrating Tio’s birthday. Original plans were for Saturday, but Mary’s sounded amazing and so we went right after work. Poor Pete could not have come either night, so changing didn’t ruin much and Phil was sweet enough to bring him back some food. We loaded up and headed to Strawn. Sadly we had to take two cars as we were one man over with the 18 car seats we have but that was okay. We were able to text and keep in touch while driving. We saw so many spots to take pics in the bluebonnets! I was in love. Too bad they were all right on the side of I-20. Too scary! The drive went by pretty quick and I had made a reservation so we didn’t wait but 20 minutes or so when we got there and we were able to wait out in the bar/patio area and drink an ice cold beer. Monks was brought a cup of milk by the waitress. We didn’t get too many pics and sadly none of the birthday boy himself. We both took our cameras but once food was being set on the table, no one cared about having pics. Lol. It was a lot of fun and we just laughed and ate until we could no longer eat (seriously). Poor Pips was getting tired but for some reason, every time someone scooted their chair up, she would just cry and cry. It was scaring her so much. It was so sad. We left about 9:15 to head home and I figured both the kids would pass out. Nope. It wasn’t until about 15 minutes outside of Abilene that Pippa finally dozed off. She wanted to play peek-a-boo the whole way home. Crazy girl. My sweet Aikman never feel asleep. He would talk and then would randomly ask us in our conversation “what you talkin bout?” Poor Phil had worked a really long shift so he did sleep about halfway home. It was a great night and since it was so late, we put off presents and cake until Saturday evening.
She sits like this in her car seat and her bouncy chair. Crazy girl. Maybe she will be in gymnastics. |
Saturday was spent at the mall. We took the kids to see the Easter bunny. Last year, Monks was terrified. He cried and cried and Devin had to hold him on the bunny’s lap and the bunny could not touch him. This year, he couldn’t get enough of the bunny! We were walking into the entrance and I asked Devin where is Aikman and we both looked around and saw he had ran to the bunny and was hugging him. He was telling us look momma, the Easter bunny or look daddy, I like him! He sure did. I then walked with Pippa over and was crossing my fingers he wouldn’t scare her and she just started kicking and smiling. She could not stop touching the bunny’s fur under his nose. They both were all smiles and it was hard to pick one pose that was sweet but I am pretty sure we found it! Move over Santa, the Easter Bunny is their favorite! Monks kept asking if the bunny would bring him race car candy. Not just candy, RACE CAR candy. Too funny. We then bought the kids some shoes, went in a few stores and ate at Chick-fil-A. We then went and ran some other errands and then headed home for naps. When we all woke up, we went to Tio and Tia’s for cake and presents. We also ate Jimmie Johns, a fairly new sub shop. We came home in time for Devin to get dressed and head to work.
I wish they would have been happy.... |
No mall trip is complete without riding these... |
How sweet was he in this hat? Such a big boy! But not for $18. That's where his uncles come in! Lol. |
We did buy this one for him at Payless since it was only $8. It's pulled low here but he looked so sweet in it when it was adjusted. |
His gifts! Boat shoes, tennis shoes, Peeps, a shirt and tie, a foot bath, a tri-pod for their camera and Wild Turkey. Just what every 32 year old man needs. :) Happy Birthday Tio! We love you! |
Sunday we just hung out at home and Pete and Phil came over for lunch and to bring Monks two coloring books. One was the Lorax and the other was a Toy Story one. Both had stickers so he was in heaven. Thank you uncles. J
Oh and it was 90 like all weekend. Disgusting. I will really die this summer.
