This past weekend we went to Kerrville to get away for a little while. We left after work Friday and returned Saturday night late, but it was so much fun. Monks was so sweet and had a great time. Tia came with us but Tio and Pete and Phil had to work. It takes us three hours to get there and we did not eat before we left so we stopped in Brady to eat McDonalds. My poor monks was starving. Tia gave him apple juice and some snacks she had but he was getting restless. Good thing our purses are filled with random things to entertain the little guy. After our quick dinner, it was getting dark and was about 7 and Monks had the best time playing with a flashlight Deanna from my work had given him. He would shine it on his legs and around the car and this little light was just moving everywhere. I asked Devin if it bothered or distracted him but he said no. I felt like that scene in Jurassic Park where Lex and Tim are stuck in that little explorer and Tim can’t turn it off and is waving it around and the T-Rex comes so I told Monks as long as no dinosaurs were around he could play with it and he agreed with me even though he had no clue what I was talking about. By 8:05, that flashlight was no longer moving and he was sound asleep. We arrived at Big Tio and Tia Net’s a little after 9 and Monks woke up of course and was too excited so he played with his cars and his big truck. He also was very excited to see Belle, Tia Net’s black cat. We are not cat people so this was so much fun to play with a cat instead of a dog. He was hilarious crawling after her, even if it meant crawling under the tables and chairs to get to her. He did play a little too rough at times and basically choked her while he leaned in for a kiss. She hissed at him and ran off and he had the most shocked expression like what the heck was that?? That little hiss was not going to discourage him though. He continued playing with her. At 10 we decided he needed to go to sleep so he would be ready for the adventures the next day……….
