Precious Pipsqueak (as Tio calls her)
When she wakes in the morning she will be whining and as soon as you walk in and look at her she starts to smile so much! And I am not sure why she can't smile with her mouth closed lol Just too happy I guess!

He's Just Being Honest.....
This morning I was getting Aikman dressed and ready to go. I put on a Halloween t shirt from Old Navy from last year. It was in no way big but it was not skin tight either, just a little shorter than normal. He looked sweet though. I also put on these brown cargo pants he had. The pants were too small and I did have to change them into his caramel colored corduroys. This was our conversation:
Monks: My shirt small momma (pulling at it)
Me: It is not, stop pulling on it. It’s cute for Halloween!
Monks: It’s pumpkins for Halloween.
Me: Yes it is. Stand up so I can button your pants please.
(Monks gets up off the couch and stands up)
Me: Hold still so I can button them, turn this way.
(I barely button them)
Monks: It’s tight momma! My pants too small!
Me: Okay they are too small, sorry. Let me get your other ones.
(I go get the corduroys from the drawer)
Me: Okay, here put these on.
Monks: I wike these momma. It’s not small?
Me: No, these fit you. They are not small.
Monks: okay.
(Devin walks in at this time)
Monks: I handsome daddy!
Devin: You are bubba, super handsome!
Monks: Mm hmm. I super handsome. I super handsome momma!
Me: You are soooo handsome!
Monks: I wook handsome. Wook Pippa, I handsome.
Me: She does think you look handsome too.
Monks: Yep. I handsome. I want cars.
I told Devin wow, only our kid would be so full of himself and Devin laughed and said our kid? Um, YOUR kid. Lol. Well the kid is just being honest. J

Monkey's A Little Baker
Last night Devin had a potluck at work. It is the last day they would all be on the same shift until bump day which is Monday. Devin will be on days again! Yay! I can’t wait. Anyway, someone was making a big pot of chili so Devin signed up to take Fritos, cheese and sopaipilla cheesecake. Last night after the kid’s bath, I decided to make the cheesecake before I started to feed Pips. Monkey of course asked me what I was doing. I said making a dessert for daddy’s work. He said a dessert? I am excited! I laughed and said great. I asked if he wanted to help and he said I want help. He pulled a chair up to the bar and stood on it. We washed our hands J and then I started opening the crescent rolls. We put down the first layer and I went to get my measuring cup and told him not to touch it and when I turned back around he was just smiling at me. I noticed on my perfectly flat crescent rolls were three little fingerprints. I let him pour the sugar in the bowl and I let him hold the spoon to measure the vanilla. He was so proud to be helping. We mixed the filling and when I was done mixing I asked if he wanted to taste it. He licked the whisk I had used and said it was duh-wicious! I then made our top mixture. I melted the butter and poured it over the top. I then mixed the sugar and cinnamon together and asked if he wanted to help me sprinkle it on. I showed him how to do it and he grabbed some in his hand and just dropped it on top. We had a little section that was piled up and to be honest I left it like that because it was precious! He was having trouble “sprinkling” it so I said here, let me dump it in your hand and then you can throw some on it. I poured it in his hand which was directly over the pan which was directly over a towel which was directly over the counter. Did it end up in the pan? Not even close. I told him to sprinkle his handful over it and he turned in the chair to the side and wiped his hands together to get it all off. I said monks what are you doing and he said it’s dirty momma. I said no sweetheart that’s supposed to go on the dessert and he said dirty. I had to laugh. Crazy kid. I then put it in the oven and got out my broom and dustpan. J Devin came in as I was sweeping and the first thing Monks told him was I help Momma, Daddy! He was so excited. Sweet boy. I guarantee it tasted better than usual.
Devin's (Casual) Swearing In
Devin had to take his physical yesterday. He had to run a mile, do sit-ups and do push-ups. He had to be there at 1 and they had told them it could last until 5. At 2:15 I get a call from Devin. He said hey you busy and I said not really and asked if he was done already. He said yes and he said can you leave work and meet me at the LEC (law enforcement center)? I said okay why and he said we are getting sworn in at 2:30ish, I wanted you to go. I said um, really nice notice and we laughed. He asked me to get him a clean shirt from the house and meet him there as he did not have time to go home to change. Now remember they had just finished working out so they are all in t shirts and shorts and tennis shoes. Cute huh? As I was hanging up with him I was turning off my computer and off to find my Lieutenant. I told him what was going on and he said of course go! He also asked if I had a camera, so sweet. I told him I did and he said okay, get going then. I left here and hauled butt home to get him a clean t shirt and wifebeater and then drove as fast as I could to the center. Of course, I got behind the slowest freaking human in the world and they were in front of me about 70% of the way. I called them every word imaginable and debated passing in the oncoming lane but I thought yeah, probably not the best excuse to tell a cop when I get pulled over that I am on my way to watch my husband get sworn in to be an officer. So I just cursed out loud to myself and kept hitting my brakes. Lol. I then got there and met him. He changed shirts and we went in. The sheriff met us in the lobby and we walked back with him and a Lieutenant. I was the only person there with anyone which I thought was very sweet Devin called me to see it. They will have a formal swearing in with family and friends when they do the pinning on ceremony in a few weeks, but I felt special to be there. I sat in the back with the jail administrators, several Lieutenants and a few Sergeants. They went in alphabetical order so of course Devin was first. I got out my camera and kept telling myself don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry, lol. I was so proud! After everyone was sworn in, they all went up front to have their badges issued and then went to another room to receive their firearms. This is such an exciting time for us as Devin is actually getting to where he wants to be. This has been his dream for so long and I am so excited for him and our family.
